It is highly desirable to fabricate an accessible catalyst surface that can efficiently activate reactants and desorb products to promote the local surface reaction equilibrium in heterogeneous catalysis. Herein, rare-earth oxycarbonates (LnOCO, where Ln = La and Sm), which have molecular-exchangeable (HO and CO) surface structures according to the ordered layered arrangement of LnO and CO ions, are unearthed. On this basis, a series of LnOCO-supported Cu catalysts are prepared through the deposition precipitation method, which provides excellent catalytic activity and stability for the water-gas shift (WGS) reaction.

The current study examined the function of sodium sulfite (SDS) in potassium permanganate (PP)-conditioned WAS fermentation for short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) biosynthesis. The presence of SDS in the PP system (PP/SDS) reduced the positive effects of PP on total SCFAs yield (2755 versus 3471 mg COD/L), while effectively increasing the proportion of acetate (from 41 to 81 %).

Introduction: Follicular carcinoma originating from struma ovarii is a clinically rare low-grade malignant tumor. The pathological diagnosis of ovarian thyroid follicular carcinoma is predominantly based on the infiltrative growth and vascular involvement of tumor cell nests of different sizes in the ovarian parenchyma.
Patient Concerns: Here we present a case of this malignancy in which the bilateral ovaries, right oviduct wall, myometrial surface, omentum, and bladder reflex were extensively involved Microscopically, the thyroid follicles in this case showed infiltrative growth of nodules of different sizes in the ovarian stroma.
Kaolinite possesses a structure with asymmetrically layered 1 : 1 dioctahedral aluminum silicate, and this structural property provides a useful platform for creating new cost-efficient functional materials that require noncentrosymmetric crystal packing. In this study, we prepared three covalently grafted kaolinites of propanediol (PD)/butanediol (BD)/glycerol (GL) by forming Al-O-C bonds between the OH groups of PD/BD/GL and the surface of kaolinite (K). Three covalently grafted kaolinites (K-PD, K-BD and K-GL) were characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy and microanalysis for C, H and N elements.

Methods: The clinical, pathological, and HRCT imaging data of 457 patients (from bicentric) with pathologically confirmed stage IA IAC (459 lesions in total) were retrospectively analyzed. The 459 lesions were classified into high-grade pattern (HGP) (n = 101) and non-high-grade pattern (n-HGP) (n = 358) groups depending on the presence of HGP (micropapillary and solid) in pathological results.

Regression models with a functional response and functional covariate have received significant attention recently. While various nonparametric and semiparametric models have been developed, there is an urgent need for model selection and diagnostic methods. In this article, we develop a unified framework for estimation and model selection in nonparametric function-on-function regression.

However, current bioinspired systems with visual and olfactory sensations are mostly assembled with separate and heterogeneous sensors, inevitably leading to bulky systems and incompatible datasets. Here, we demonstrate on-chip integration of visual and olfactory sensations through a dual-focus imaging approach.

For landless farmers, the absence of land guaranteed function inevitably gives rise to the substitution effect of other guaranteed methods. And the subjective preferences exhibited by farmers in making guaranteed behavior decisions can be quantitatively described as guaranteed behavioral responses (GBRs).

However, cuprotosis-related long non-coding RNAs (CRLNCs) and their relationship with prognosis and the immunological landscape of colorectal cancer (CRC) are unclear. We have developed a lncRNA signature to predict survival time, immune infiltration, and sensitivity to chemotherapy.

PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1)-mediated mitophagy is essential in the removal of damaged mitochondria and the regulation of inflammatory responses. The aim of the present study was to elucidate the role of PINK1-mediated mitophagy on mitochondrial damage and inflammatory responses in bovine mammary epithelial cells challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

The results show that nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in the lake is dominant. The average concentrations of total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) exceed the surface water quality Class III standards by 1.

Methods: The OSCC model was established in 9 mice. DNA was extracted from the tumors of primary tongue lesions and disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) of submandibular gland lymph nodes and bone marrow, and then whole genome sequencing was performed.
Photoelectrochemical CO reduction reaction flow cells are promising devices to meet the requirements to produce solar fuels at the industrial scale. Photoelectrodes with wide bandgaps do not allow for efficient CO reduction at high current densities, while the integration of opaque photoelectrodes with narrow bandgaps in flow cell configurations still remains a challenge. This paper describes the design and fabrication of a back-illuminated Si photoanode promoted PEC flow cell for CO reduction reaction.

The objective of this study is to use the finite element (FE) method to predict the mechanical signals (interstitial fluid velocity, strain, pore pressure, and pore fluid velocity) produced by osteocyte during physiological activities. The model predicts that the amplitude and distribution of the mechanical signals are mainly affected by the loading rate. The magnitude of mechanical signals in the lacunar-canalicular system increases as the amplitude, frequency and amount of direction of load increase.

The RPA-MQD-based ICA method is reported for the first time and has the following advantages: (i) RPA is free from the constraints of instruments and can be promoted in point-of-care testing (POCT) scenarios, (ii) fluorescence ICA enhances the portability of detection operation so that the entire operation time is controlled within 1 h, and (iii) compared with common colorimetric-based RPA-ICA, the proposed assay used MQD to provide strong and quantifiable fluorescence signal, thus enhancing the detection sensitivity. With this strategy, the proposed RPA-MQD-based ICA can amplify and detect the SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid on-site with a sensitivity of 2 copies/reaction, which is comparable to the sensitivity of commercial reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) kits.

In this study, we developed a highly sensitive and multiplex lateral flow assay (LFA) for the simultaneous detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella typhimurium in complex samples by using wheat germ agglutinin (WGA)-modified magnetic quantum dots (Mag@QDs) as a universal detection nanoprobe. The Mag@QDs-WGA tag with a 200 nm Fe3O4 core and multiple QD-formed shell was introduced into the LFA biosensor for the universal capture of the two target bacteria and provided the dual amplification effect of fluorescence enhancement and magnetic enrichment for ultra-sensitivity detection.
