In a clinical investigation on the treatment of Parkinson's syndrome it is shown that a combination of L-dopa with decarboxylase inhibitor (L-carbidopa) shows advantages compared to treatment with L-dopa alone. To achieve the same therapeutic effect a quarter of the dose is sufficient; the good tolerance, even in relation to the digestive and cardiovascular apparatus, permits the use of relatively larger daily doses. The favorable action appears more quickly.
