Background: Suboptimal antibiotic prescriptions in patients with an antibiotic allergy label lead to increased incidence of adverse events and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). An antibiotic allergy protocol was developed in a Dutch academic hospital guiding optimal and safe antibiotic use in potentially penicillin-allergic patients. Informed by previous studies of implementation processes in clinical care, we studied the implementation of this protocol.

Although vaccinating seems self-evident, the immunization coverage in the Netherlands is decreasing. This decrease is often attributed to a lack of knowledge amongst the public. We argue, however, that it is rather a lack of trust that drives this reduction in uptake.

Objective: Our goal was to define the role of bacterial vaginosis and bacterial vaginosis-associated microorganisms in endometritis.
Study Design: Endometrial biopsies were obtained for histologic and microbiologic study from 178 consecutive women with suspected pelvic inflammatory disease, and 85 of them underwent laparoscopy to diagnose salpingitis.
Results: Histologic endometritis was confirmed in 117 (65%) of the women.
