This Multiperspectival Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (MIPA) delves into the nuanced experiences of 20 special education teachers across severe, mild to moderate, and early childhood backgrounds collaborating with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in school settings. While identifying facilitators and barriers to this collaboration, the study sheds light on factors that contribute to a breakdown in rapport between teachers and BCBAs. Notable challenges include perceived condescension, feelings of blame for intervention shortcomings, and receiving recommendations deemed non-feasible or impractical.

Background: Preoperative malnutrition is a known risk factor for postoperative complications following total joint arthroplasty (TJA); however, there is scant literature comparing which nutritional index is best at predicting these outcomes. The purpose of this study was to investigate the utility of the Maastricht index, Onodera's Prognostic Nutritional Index, the Geriatric Nutritional Risk index, and a novel, modified Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (mGNRI) in predicting periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), wound complications (WCs), readmission, and reoperation rates after TJA.

Methods: A single-center, retrospective cohort study was performed of patients who underwent primary TJA from January 2016 to December 2021.

Background And Objectives: Daily rounds provide an opportunity for interprofessional collaboration and patient/family engagement, which are critical to stroke care. As part of a quality improvement program, we conducted a baseline assessment to examine interprofessional collaboration and patient/family engagement during the current rounding process in a 12-bed comprehensive stroke center. Findings from the baseline assessment will be used to inform the development, implementation, and evaluation of a new rounding model.

The locus coeruleus (LC) produces most of the brain's noradrenaline (NA). Among its many roles, NA is often said to be neuroprotective and important for brain upkeep. For this reason, loss of LC integrity is thought to impact brain volume and microstructure as well as plasticity broadly.

Background: Risk factors for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) construct failure have been studied extensively. However, while some studies account for variables such as activity level, construct types, preoperative physical therapy, or patient demographics individually, comprehensive studies that control for all these factors simultaneously are scarce.

Hypothesis: By utilizing a robust multivariable analysis, the factors associated with an increased risk of ACLR construct failure can be determined.

The development of neutralizing antibodies (inhibitors) against coagulation factor VIII (FVIII) poses a major challenge in hemophilia A (HA) treatment. The formation of FVIII inhibitors is a CD4+ T-cell dependent mechanism which includes antigen presenting cells (APCs), B- and T-helper lymphocytes. APCs present FVIII derived peptides on major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC-II) to CD4+ Tcells.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to examine how lumbar positions change in patients with low back pain (LBP) who have hypermobile joints, using weight-bearing MRI scans.
  • Among the 257 LBP patients, 48 with hypermobility were mostly younger females and displayed greater lumbar lordosis angles compared to others, but showed no significant differences in degenerative findings like herniations or disc issues.
  • Results suggest that while hypermobility is linked to certain demographic and postural traits, it doesn't correlate with heightened back pain or more severe spinal changes when comparing positions.
