We present a combined analysis of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon in the space- and timelike regions using dispersion theory. Our framework provides a consistent description of the experimental data over the full range of momentum transfer, in line with the strictures from analyticity and unitarity. The statistical uncertainties of the extracted form factors are estimated using the bootstrap method, while systematic errors are determined from variations of the spectral functions.

The existence of the X(3872) resonance extremely close to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} threshold implies that neutral charm mesons have an approximate nonrelativistic conformal symmetry. Systems consisting of these mesons with small kinetic energies produced in a short-distance reaction are unparticles in the sense that they can be created by operators with definite scaling dimensions in a nonrelativistic conformal field theory. There is a scaling region in which their energy distribution has power-law behavior with an exponent determined by the scaling dimension of the operator.

We investigate a nonrelativistic version of Georgi's "unparticle physics." We define the unnucleus as a field in a nonrelativistic conformal field theory. Such a field is characterized by a mass and a conformal dimension.

We discuss the physics of the Efimov effect from a renormalization group viewpoint using the concept of limit cycles. Furthermore, we discuss recent experiments providing evidence for the Efimov effect in ultracold gases and its relevance for nuclear systems.
