Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of male street children in Jakarta and Banten concerning sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.
  • A survey of 259 street children revealed a 5.8% STI prevalence, with cases including Hepatitis B, HIV, and Gonorrhea, highlighting risky behaviors like condomless sex despite some participants having good knowledge about STIs.
  • Findings indicate diverse sociodemographic characteristics among the children, suggesting that understanding KAP and its relation to STI cases requires further research across broader areas in Indonesia.
