Minor salivary gland malignancies are a rare entity among head and neck tumors. As in major gland neoplasms, adenoid cystic carcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma are the most common histological subtypes. Malignant tumors affecting minor salivary glands include a wide range of histopathologic types.

Chronic otorrhoea from a tympanic membrane perforation is common. We present the case of a patient who had already received seemingly adequate treatment for his condition in the past. Yet, he presented to our outpatient clinic with worsening otalgia and otorrhoea, progressive hearing loss and a new tympanic membrane perforation.

Solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma (SEP) of the larynx is a rare haematological malignancy and an infrequent cause of persisting dysphonia. We present the case of a 54-year-old woman with a long-standing history of dysphonia. While clinical examination showed a rather inconspicuous prominent right vestibular fold, an MRI revealed a laryngeal mass with erosion of the thyroid cartilage.
