We report a case of co-infection with Aspergillus fumigatus causing invasive sino-orbital aspergillosis and Trichophyton interdigitale tinea corporis in a returned traveler from flooded Sylhet region, Bangladesh. Anthropogenic climate change may lead to increased extreme weather-associated fungal infections. Travel to a flooded area should be considered a risk factor for fungal infection.

Method: Licensed SLPs ( = 179) completed an online survey, which included Likert-type and multiple-choice questions.
Results: Findings from the survey revealed a discrepancy between SLPs' perceptions and practices regarding service provision for emergent bilinguals who use AAC.
Purpose: The purpose of this project was to examine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on speech-language pathologist (SLP) service provision for emergent bilinguals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). One prominent issue in AAC service delivery is the efficacy and feasibility of providing AAC services via telepractice. The COVID-19 pandemic intensified this issue as most providers, clients, and families adjusted to remote service delivery models.

This study aims to build on these findings by characterizing the association between hearing status and healthcare-seeking behaviors among Medicare beneficiaries. Cross-sectional log-binominal regression was used to assess the association between self-report hearing and healthcare-seeking behaviors (avoidance or delay of care, personal health concerns, and sharing health status) using the 2016 Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey ( = 12,140).

Inhibition of this vital proteolytic process is effective in preventing the virus from replicating in infected cells and therefore provides a potential COVID-19 treatment option. Guided by previous medicinal chemistry studies about SARS-CoV-1 main protease (SC1M ), we have designed and synthesized a series of SC2M inhibitors that contain β-(S-2-oxopyrrolidin-3-yl)-alaninal (Opal) for the formation of a reversible covalent bond with the SC2M active-site cysteine C145.

They are recommended for many people as second-line agents after metformin by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). PHARMAC have proposed criteria for funding in New Zealand.

Cognitive impairment is more common with older age; financial resources and social support may dwindle. Risk, cognitive impairment, and decisional capacity each change over time.

There has been limited investigation of the regulation of prouroguanylin by food; therefore we investigated prouroguanylin regulation following meals.

We undertook a systematic literature review to evaluate the state of the evidence on UT and its relationship to these outcomes.
Methods: We conducted electronic and bibliographic searches to identify relevant studies examining associations between UT and health, healthcare, or healthcare education outcomes.
Trauma exposure markedly increases risk for psychopathology including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Understanding the course by which PTSD develops after a traumatic event is critical to enhancing early intervention. Although prior work has explored the course of PTSD symptoms in the subsequent months, relatively few studies have explored the course of symptoms in the acute post-trauma period, defined as the 30 days after a traumatic event.
