Objective: Real-world evidence in treatment-resistant depression (TRD; commonly defined as non-response to ≥ 2 consecutive treatments at adequate dosage and duration) is lacking. A systematic literature review was conducted to understand disease burden and treatment outcomes for patients with TRD, studied in a real-world setting over the last decade.

Data Sources: A literature search was conducted in May 2022 in MEDLINE, Embase, The Cochrane Libraries and PsycINFO, comprising studies published from 2012 to 2022.

Background/aims: Heavily treatment-experienced (HTE) people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (PWH) may not achieve virologic suppression (VS) with combination antiretroviral therapy due to multidrug resistance (MDR), intolerance, and safety concerns. These PWH often receive highly individualized treatment regimens, but these regimens may not enable PWH to achieve VS, thereby halting disease progression. Novel medications are required for treating individuals with MDR HIV.

Introduction: The onset of severe, drug-resistant seizures in early childhood is characteristic of the rare epileptic disorders Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), Dravet syndrome (DS), and CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD) and is frequently observed in the rare genetic conditions tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and Rett syndrome (RTT). High-quality treatment guidelines are needed for optimal management of these conditions. This review aimed to assess content, availability, and development of treatment guidelines for these disorders in the Nordics region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden).
