A novel dual-emission fluorescence probe, Eu-TDA-DHTP, was developed based on a ratiometric fluorescence-organic frameworks utilizing Eu, 2,5-Thiophenedicarboxylic acid, and 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid for the ratiometric and fluorescent visual sensing of the anthrax biomarker 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid (DPA). The experiments demonstrated that this material can effectively enhance dual emission for DPA detection, enabling clear visualization. The limit of detection for DPA detection using Eu-TDA-DHTP is 1.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary fluoride (F) and curcumin (Cur) supplementation on the tibial biomechanical performance, histopathology, and behavior of pullets. Four dietary F levels (0, 400, 800, 1200 mg/kg) supplemented with CUR (0, 200 mg/kg) were used to create 8 experimental groups in Hyline Brown pullets. Behavioral study results showed that supplements of 1200 mg/kg F reduced the percentages of feeding, walking, standing, and preening behaviors while increasing the percentage of lying behavior (P < 0.

This study aimed to identify metabolic footprints associated with distinct phenotypes of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) using untargeted metabolomics. We included 20 samples each from AIS phenotype A (n = 251), B (n = 213), and C (n = 43) groups, along with 20 age- and gender-matched healthy controls (HCs). Plasma metabolic profiles were analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are common complications following thyroid cancer surgery, impacting patient well-being, prognosis, and potentially leading to severe complications. Frailty, a critical risk factor for postoperative complications, has not been thoroughly investigated concerning PONV in thyroid cancer patients. This study aimed to explore the correlation between frailty and PONV in thyroid cancer patients.

Intra-tumoral bacteria are pivotal in the initiation and progression of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), exerting a significant influence on tumor cell biology, immune responses, and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Different types and distribution of bacteria threaten the balance of metabolism and the immune environment of tumor cells. Taking advantage of this disrupted homeostasis, intra-tumoral bacteria stimulate the secretion of metabolites or influence specific immune cell types to produce inflammatory or chemokines, thereby influencing the anti-tumor immune response while regulating the level of inflammation and immunosuppression within the TME.

Low-nitrogen (LN) conditions typically promote anthocyanin biosynthesis in plants. Although previous studies primarily explored structural genes and transcription factors involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis, the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in this process under LN conditions remains less understood. This study identified LNC159c as a potential regulator of anthocyanin biosynthesis, with its expression notably downregulated under LN conditions.

Background: Hypertension is a prevalent cardiovascular risk factor that significantly contributes to morbidity and mortality worldwide. Previous studies have highlighted the role of inadequate sleep during weekdays in the development of hypertension. However, the potential mitigative effects of weekend catch-up sleep (WCS) on hypertension have been less explored.

This study presented new insights into the sustainable conversion of total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPHC) into polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) using wetland microbial fuel cells (WMFCs). The main innovations included the following two points: (1) The integration of bioelectricity generation with efficient PHA production further underscored the potential of electroactive biofilms as a sustainable platform for simultaneous TPHC biotransformation, bioelectricity recovery and PHA production. (2) The interactive dynamics of PHAs, metabolites, extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and microorganisms during the formation and stabilization of electroactive biofilms provided novel insights into microbial strategies for carbon utilization.

Digital governance is an important goal of government digital transformation, and the policy of "pilot cities regarding information for public well-being" in China is an important initiative to promote the reform of government governance system and realize green development. Based on the panel data of 282 cities in China from 2007 to 2020, this paper analyzes the mechanism and path of the impact of digital governance on green development using the program of "pilot cities regarding information for public well-being" as a quasi-natural experiment. The double-difference model and mediation effect model are utilized.

Anillin (ANLN) is a highly conserved protein involved in cytokinesis and cytoskeletal remodeling. This study investigates the role of ANLN in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) progression and its impact on the tumor immune microenvironment, with a focus on the combination of ANLN silencing and anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) therapy. Through and experiments, along with clinical specimen analysis, we discovered that silencing ANLN not only inhibits the malignant progression of HNSCC but also reduces the activation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase-mitogen-activated protein kinase (ERK-MAPK) signaling pathway and decreases programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) expression.

Terahertz (THz) technology has attracted significant global interest, particularly in sensing applications, due to its nonionizing feature and sensitivity to weak interactions. Recently, owing to the advantages of low optical loss and the capability to support both electric and magnetic high-quality factor (high-Q) resonances, dielectric metasurfaces have emerged as a powerful platform for multiscenario terahertz sensing applications. This review summarizes recent advancements in dielectric metasurface-assisted THz sensing.

From a retrosynthetic standpoint, or heterocyclic cores are fundamental disconnections that chemists make. This manuscript highlights heterocycle synthesis as the strategic bond disconnection by leveraging ubiquitous building blocks, carboxylic acids and amines, for preparation of heterocyclic cores in a library-friendly format. This heterocyclic formation strategy allows medicinal chemists to access much wider chemical space, especially for analogs with higher Fsp vs state-of-the-art heterocycle functionalization methods.

This study explores selenium enrichment of milk through microbial transformation, utilizing Geotrichum candidum LG-8, isolated from traditional dairy products. A combination of electronic tongue, electronic nose, HPLC-ICP-MS, and UHPLC-QTOF-MS were used to evaluate milk quality, organic selenium types, and various components. The milk retained a weakly acidic pH post-transformation, with a flavor profile rich in sour, sweet, and umami tastes.

Abnormal glucose metabolism inevitably disrupts normal neuronal function, a phenomenon widely observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Investigating the mechanisms of metabolic adaptation during disease progression has become a central focus of research. Considering that impaired glucose metabolism is closely related to decreased insulin signaling and insulin resistance, a new concept "type 3 diabetes mellitus (T3DM)" has been coined.
