Aim: The aim of this research is to evaluate the demographic attributes and clinical manifestations of uveitis in adult patients frequenting the Mansoura Ophthalmic Center.
Methods: Utilizing a cross-sectional, prospective, analytical study design, this research engaged adult patients visiting the outpatient uveitis clinic at the Mansoura Ophthalmic Center. Comprehensive case evaluations involved collecting detailed patient histories, examining ophthalmic records, and conducting thorough ocular examinations.
Aim: To evaluate the long-term results and complications of Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in a cohort of Egyptian patients.
Methods: A retrospective study of 124 eyes of 99 patients with refractory glaucoma who underwent AGV implantation and had a minimum follow-up of 5y was performed. All patients underwent complete ophthalmic examination and intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement before surgery and at 1d, weekly for the 1 month, 3, 6mo, and 1y after surgery and yearly afterward for 5y.
Objectives: To study the fitting and the visual rehabilitation obtained with a corneoscleral contact lens, namely, Rose K2 XL in patients with irregular cornea.
Methods: This prospective study included 36 eyes of 36 patients with irregular cornea fitted with Rose K2 XL. Refractive and visual outcomes and mesopic and aberrometric parameters of fitted eyes were assessed at 2 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months after the initial lens use.
Objective: To evaluate the use of perforated punctal plugs with adjuvant application of mitomycin-C in the management of acquired external punctal stenosis grades 0 and 1.
Methods: This is a prospective interventional case series including 30 eyes of 30 patients with acquired external punctal stenosis of the lower punctum of grades 0 and 1 presenting with epiphora. They were examined to exclude other causes of lacrimation and epiphora: Slit-lamp assessment of the stenosed punctum and grading was done, probing was done to exclude associated canalicular stenosis, and syringing was done to exclude nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
Purpose: To evaluate the preliminary results of biodegradable collagen matrix implant (Ologen) designed to improve outcome in patients with infantile glaucoma undergoing combined trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy.
Methods: A biodegradable collagen matrix (OculusGen) was placed in the subconjunctival space, partially over the scleral flap and the sclera in 20 eyes of 11 patients with infantile glaucoma who underwent combined trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy. Patients were examined preoperatively and on the first postoperative day with multiple postoperative follow-up visits within 12 months after surgery.
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of supra-Tenon capsule implantation of an Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) as a measure to decrease the fibrotic potential of the Tenon capsule on bleb formation and its subsequent effect on intraocular pressure (IOP) control in children with refractory glaucoma.
Setting: Mansoura Ophthalmic Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, Egypt.
Design: A prospective interventional study.

Methods: The study included 32 patients presenting with proptosis. Every patient was subjected to a clinical examination; conventional MRI "T1 weighted, T2 weighted, and post-contrast T1 weighted if needed;" diffusion-weighted MRI; and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of different formulas used for IOL power calculation in patients with high axial myopia undergoing cataract surgery.
Methods: A prospective clinical study was carried out on 53 eyes of 51 patients with an axial length from 25.5 to 31.
Purpose: To investigate the levels of erythropoietin (EPO) and soluble CD44 (sCD44) in the aqueous and plasma of human eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), and to correlate their concentration with severity of glaucoma.
Methods: A total of 30 patients with POAG and 25 patients with senile cataract (control group) of matched age and gender were included in the study prospectively. Aqueous samples were obtained by paracentesis from glaucoma and cataract patients who were undergoing elective surgery.
