Dignity Therapy (DT) is a psychosocial intervention aimed at alleviating existential distress, enhancing meaning, and improving the overall well-being of palliative care patients and their family caregivers. While individual studies have demonstrated the benefits of DT, a comprehensive evaluation of its impact on key outcomes such as quality of life (QoL), depression, anxiety, and well-being is needed. This study aimed to systematically review the effects of DT on palliative care patients and their family caregivers, focusing on outcomes related to QoL, psychological distress (depression and anxiety), and overall well-being.

Cannabichromene (CBC) is a minor constituent of cannabis that is a selective cannabinoid CB2 receptor agonist and activator of TRPA1. To date, it has not been shown whether (-)-CBC, (+)-CBC, or both can mediate these effects. In this study, we investigate the activity of the CBC enantiomers at CB1, CB2, and Transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) receptors .

Prevalence and Associations of Night Eating Syndrome Among Medical Students in Saudi Arabia.

Background: Medical students often experience elevated stress levels and disrupted sleep patterns, increasing the risk of developing Night Eating Syndrome (NES). Depression is prevalent among medical students, further emphasizing the need for investigation. This study aims to explore the occurrence of NES and its associated factors, primarily focusing on depression, among medical students at a university in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Understanding the impact of the COVID‑19 pandemic on healthcare services for adults during three waves of COVID‑19 infections: A South African private sector experience.

The performance of post-processing techniques carried out on the Brillouin gain spectrum to estimate the Brillouin frequency shift (BFS) in standard Brillouin distributed sensors is evaluated. Curve fitting methods with standard functions such as polynomial and Lorentzian, as well as correlation techniques such as Lorentzian Cross-correlation and Cross Reference Plot Analysis (CRPA), are considered for the analysis. The fitting procedures and key parameters for each technique are optimized, and the performance in terms of BFS uncertainty, BFS offset error and processing time is compared by numerical simulations and through controlled experiments.

Kartagener's syndrome and acute appendicitis.

Kartagener's syndrome is a combination of situs inversus totalis, sinusitis and bronchiectasis. Left sided appendicitis can present with problems in diagnosis and during surgery. We present here a case of Kartagener's syndrome and left sided appendicitis successfully managed in a peripheral hospital in Bahawalnagar, Pakistan.

Yunis Varon syndrome.

In this communication is reported a neonate with Yunis Varon syndrome, a rare autosomal recessive disorder, born to a consanguineously married couple who had microcephaly, wide cranial sutures, prominent eyes, hypertelorism, dysplastic ears, sparse hairs, cupid bow like upper lip with median pseudocleft and labio-gingival retraction. Bilateral hypoplasia of thumbs, absent great toes, short phalanges were other features. Additional features in this case included median pseudocleft unreported earlier and C.

The effect of concurrent lead and cadmium exposure on the cell-mediated immune response in goats.

Cell-mediated immune response was monitored by cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction (CHR) to 2-4 dinitrochlorobenzene in goats given lead or cadmium alone or in combination. Twenty goats were divided into 4 groups of 5 animals each. Group A served as control whereas Groups B, C and D were given po doses of 50 mg lead acetate/kg body weight, 10 mg cadmium chloride/kg body weight or 50 mg lead acetate/kg body weight + 10 mg cadmium chloride/kg body weight, respectively, for 42 d.
