The efficacy of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) against abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in younger patients remains unknown. Hence, the current study aimed to investigate whether the aneurysm-related mortality rate of EVAR is acceptable among patients aged ≤70 years. Among 644 patients, 148 underwent EVAR (EVAR group), and 496 received open surgical repair (OSR group).

Method And Patients: Of the adults aged 75 years or older residing in Hokkaido prefecture of Japan (n = 705,538), those who did not meet several exclusion criteria were eligible for generating propensity score-matched cohorts (n = 214,723). Exclusion criteria included co-prescribed medications acting on the central nervous system, diagnoses of malignant neoplasm, dementia, depression, etc.
Purpose: To assess the long-term cosmetic outcomes of the "slit-slide procedure", designed to provide a more natural appearance for umbilical hernia repair, as perceived by the patients and their parents.
Methods: A total of 149 patients with umbilical hernia underwent the slit-slide procedure at our hospital. The slit-slide procedure allows for the creation of an umbilicus with a more natural and integrated appearance.

Currently, there is no standardized method of processing ovarian tissue for cryopreservation, despite evidence that fragmentation of ovaries may trigger primordial follicle activation. Because fragmentation may influence ovarian transplant function, the purpose of this systematic review was (1) to identify the processing sizes and dimensions of ovarian tissue within sites around the world, and (2) to examine the reported outcomes of ovarian tissue transplantation including, reported duration of hormone restoration, pregnancy, and live birth.

Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is a rare but severe genetic disorder in which acute inflammation elicits progressive heterotopic ossification in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Classic FOP is caused by the R206H mutation in ALK2/ACVR1. While several activin receptor-like kinase 2 (ALK2) inhibitors were found to be efficacious in animal models of FOP, most of the ALK2 (R206H) inhibitors lacked sufficient oral bioavailability for efficacy.
