Purpose: Wheat seedlings extract (WSE) is known for its various physiological activities, including anti-inflammation and antioxidant effects. However, its efficacy against sarcopenia is not well documented.
Functional flavonoid production is a new agenda in the agricultural industry, and young barley leaves (YBL) are one of the highlighted crops due to their health-beneficial flavonoid, saponarin. For the year-round cultivation of a high saponarin content of YBL, abiotic signal effects on the biosynthesis and metabolism in YBL need to be understood clearly. Our study was also was the first to demonstrate fluctuations of isolated nine phenolic contents and antioxidant properties in various cultivars of this species with different growth times. The antioxidant abilities differed significantly in the 80 % methanol extracts (600 μg/mL) according to cultivar and growth time, with the highest average activities (DPPH: 82 %; ABTS: 87 %) observed after 7 days.

This study analyzed the updated temporal trends of liver cancer aetiologies and sociodemographic status in 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2019.
Methods: The Global Burden of Disease 2019 report was used for statistical analysis.
We investigate photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) with coherent light sources whose pulse durations range from femtoseconds to nanoseconds. To that end, we employed an optical parametric amplifier, an ultraviolet optical pulse shaper, and a nanosecond dye laser, all centered around a wavelength of 380 nm. A multiphoton ionization experiment on the gas-phase chiral prototype fenchone found that PECD measured the 3s intermediate resonance is about 15% and robust over five orders of magnitude of the pulse duration.

The goal of this study was to examine the cause, change in severity, change in incidence, and demographics of nasal bone fracture according to today's lifestyle.
Methods: A total of 2,092 patients diagnosed as having nasal bone fractures at our department between 2002 and 2017 were included in this study.
Ball-milling process was applied to increase sulfur content in sulfur/polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) composites and improve electrochemical properties of Li/S batteries. In contrast to as-received PAN, pre-heated PAN was pulverized by the ball-milling, resulting in the continuous size reduction with increasing the milling time. Sulfur contents in SPAN composites synthesized with a pre-heated and milled PAN were increased with prolonging the milling time and the maximum content reached 44.
