Lung cancer is a fatal disease with high morbidity and mortality. As a major type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) has come into the focus of the biological and clinical research. Nevertheless, potential functions of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) remain unclear.

Multielectrode arrays (MEAs) that enable recording and stimulation of activity from electrogenic cells offer notable potential for interrogating brain organoids. However, conventional MEAs, initially designed for monolayer cultures, offer limited recording contact area restricted to the bottom of the 3D organoids.

Infection of can cause an outbreak of "internal organ white-spot disease", which seriously affects the aquaculture of the large yellow croaker. Ubiquitylation is closely related to the post-translation modification of proteins and plays a vital role in many hosts' immune defense pathways, while the E2-binding enzyme is a key factor in ubiquitination.

The development of rural tourism (RT) has great significance in reducing poverty and achieving rural vitalization. Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP) is a depressed area with rich RT resources due to its unspoiled nature and diverse culture. For future sustainable development of RT in QTP, this paper analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics and its influencing factors of RT villages using various spatial analysis methods, such as nearest neighbor index, kernel density estimation, vector buffer analysis, and geographic detectors.

Pharmacological reagents targeting glioma are limited to achieve the desired therapeutic effect due to the presence of blood-brain barrier (BBB). Effectively crossing the BBB and specifically targeting to the brain tumour are the major challenge for the glioma treatments.

We aimed to timely and accurately assess long-term survival for liver cancer patients in eastern China.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with liver cancer during 2004-2018 from four cancer registries with high-quality data from Taizhou, eastern China, were included.
Resistance to PARP inhibitors (PARPi) remains a therapeutic challenge in ovarian cancer patients. PDZ-binding kinase (PBK) participates in the chemoresistance of many malignancies. However, the role of PBK in PARPi resistance of ovarian cancer is obscure.

Polysomnography (PSG) is the gold standard for measuring sleep quality and disorders, but it is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to errors. Current research has confirmed the correlations between sleep and the respiratory/circulatory system.

Background: In the early stage of the COVID-19 outbreak in China, several social rumors in the form of false news, conspiracy theories, and magical cures had ever been shared and spread among the general public at an alarming rate, causing public panic and increasing the complexity and difficulty of social management. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the characteristics and the driving factors of the social rumors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Based on a sample of 1,537 rumors collected from Sina Weibo's debunking account, this paper first divided the sample into four categories and calculated the risk level of all kinds of rumors.
Collagen type I alpha 1 (COL1A1), a member of the collagen family, is involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transition, which is closely linked to malignant tumorigenesis. COL1A1 is highly expressed in various cancers and regulates various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, metastasis, apoptosis, and cisplatin resistance. COL1A1 is also associated with cancer progression and prognosis; elevated COL1A1 expression is associated with poor prognosis in cancer patients.

However, the effects of EMPA on obesity-related kidney disease have not been determined. The heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1)-adiponectin axis is an essential antioxidant system with anti-apoptotic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Methods: The medical records of 90 patients (120 eyes) with Coats disease admitted to our hospital from April 2010 to June 2021 were selected as retrospective study subjects and divided into control and treatment groups according to the numerical table method. There were 45 cases and 60 eyes in each group.
The purpose of this study is to develop a primary motor cortex (M1)-basal ganglia-thalamus model capable of reproducing the physiological phenomenon of exaggerated phase-amplitude coupling (PAC) in Parkinson's disease and exploring the potential sources of PAC anomalies in M1. The subthalamic nucleus (STN) phase-STN amplitude coupling, STN phase-M1 amplitude coupling, and M1 phase-M1 amplitude coupling are reproduced, where the phase frequencies are distributed in the beta band and the amplitude frequencies are distributed in the broad gamma band. We mainly study the impacts of thalamus →M1 connections and STN↔M1 bidirectional synaptic connections.

Method: A total of 267 pediatric NT1 patients (194 males and 73 females, 5-17 years old) were evaluated for ADHD symptoms by a psychiatrist using the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria of the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview for Children and Adolescents (MINI Kid) from February 2011 to July 2013 at Peking University People's Hospital. All patients underwent Stanford Sleep Inventory (SSI) evaluation and polysomnography followed by multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) before ER-MPH treatment.
The tumor suppressor p53 is a well-known cellular guardian of genomic integrity that blocks cell cycle progression or induces apoptosis upon exposure to cellular stresses. However, it is unclear how the remaining activities of p53 are regulated after the abrogation of these routine activities. Ferroptosis is a form of iron- and lipid-peroxide-mediated cell death; it is particularly important in p53-mediated carcinogenesis and corresponding cancer prevention.

In this work, a magnetically recoverable photocatalyst of FeO@CdS@CQDs ternary core-shell heterostructures is elaborately fabricated through the hydrothermal growth of CdS on FeO nanospheres with in-situ incorporation of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and used for selective alcohol oxidation coupled with HO production. The FeO@CdS@CQDs photocatalyst possess distinct advantages of full solar spectral absorption, efficient charge separation, and high stability.

The MR diet also produces paradoxical increases in energy intake and expenditure and limits fat deposition while reducing tissue and circulating lipids and enhancing overall insulin sensitivity. In the years following the original 1993 report, a comprehensive effort has been made to understand the nutrient sensing and signaling systems linking reduced dietary methionine to the behavioral, physiological, biochemical, and transcriptional components of the response.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFunctional principal component analysis (FPCA) has been widely used to capture major modes of variation and reduce dimensions in functional data analysis. However, standard FPCA based on the sample covariance estimator does not work well if the data exhibits heavy-tailedness or outliers. To address this challenge, a new robust FPCA approach based on a functional pairwise spatial sign (PASS) operator, termed PASS FPCA, is introduced.
