Hydraulic technology with smaller sizes and higher reliability trends, including fault prediction and intelligent control, requires high-performance temperature and pressure-integrated sensors. Current designs rely on planar wafer- or chip-level integration, which is limited by pressure range, chip size, and low reliability. We propose a small-size temperature/high-pressure integrated sensor via the flip-chip technique.

Plastic debris has recently been proposed as a novel habitat for bacterial colonization, which can raise perturbations in bacterial ecology after burial in riverine sediments. However, community coalescence, as a prevalent process involving the interrelationships of multiple communities and their surrounding environments, has been rarely discussed to reveal the impact of the plastisphere on sedimentary bacterial community. This study analyzed the bacterial community in plastic debris and sediment along the Nujiang River, elucidating the role of the plastisphere in mediating community coalescence in sediments.

Background: A pivotal determinant for the success of tissue regeneration lies in the establishment of sufficient vasculature. Utilizing autologous tissue grafts from donors offers the dual advantage of mitigating the risk of disease transmission and circumventing the necessity for post-transplant immunosuppression, rendering it an exemplary vascularization strategy. Among the various potential autologous donors, adipose tissue emerges as a particularly auspicious source, being both widely available and compositionally rich.

Accumulating evidence implicates that herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) has been linked to the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD). HSV-1 infection induces β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition in vitro and in vivo, but the effect and precise mechanism remain elusive. Here, we show that HSV-1 infection of the brains of transgenic 5xFAD mice resulted in accelerated Aβ deposition, gliosis, and cognitive dysfunction.

Background: The newest clinical evidence that the relationship between the peritoneal cancer index (PCI) and the postoperative prognosis of advanced ovarian cancer patients remains controversial, and there are no large-sample and multicenter studies to clarify this matter. Therefore, in this paper, we used meta-analysis to systematically assess the postoperative prognostic value of PCI in subjects with advanced ovarian cancer to provide individualized treatment plans and thus improve the prognosis of patients.

Methods: Literature on the correlation between PCI and the postoperative prognosis in subjects with advanced OC undergoing cytoreductive surgery (CRS) was searched in the Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Embase, and Web of Science from the database inception to April 20, 2023.

Purpose: To mitigate the B/B sensitivity of velocity-selective inversion (VSI) pulse trains for velocity-selective arterial spin labeling (VSASL) by implementing adiabatic refocusing. This approach aims to achieve artifact-free VSI-based perfusion imaging through single-pair label-control subtractions, reducing the need for the currently required four-pair dynamic phase-cycling (DPC) technique when using a velocity-insensitive control.

Methods: We introduce a Fourier-transform VSI (FT-VSI) train that incorporates sinc-modulated hard excitation pulses with MLEV-8-modulated adiabatic hyperbolic secant refocusing pairs.

Cesium doped WO (Cs-WO) photocatalyst with high and stable oxidation activity was successfully synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal method using CsCO as the doped metal ion source and tungstic acid (HWO) as the tungsten source. A series of analytical characterization tools and oxygen precipitation activity tests were used to compare the effects of different additions of CsCO on the crystal structure and microscopic morphologies. The UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) of Cs-doped material exhibited a significant red shift in the absorption edge with new shoulders appearing at 440-520 nm.

Article Synopsis
  • - The scavenging process is crucial for the performance of marine low-speed two-stroke dual-fuel engines, with adjustments in air pressure and temperature significantly influencing combustion efficiency and emissions.
  • - Increasing scavenging air pressure enhances engine thermal efficiency and power while reducing harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions, with notable improvements seen as pressure rises from 3 to 3.75 bar.
  • - Conversely, raising scavenging air temperature negatively affects engine performance, resulting in decreased thermal efficiency and power but slightly improving carbon monoxide (CO) emissions; thus, managing air pressure is more critical for optimizing engine operation.
