Study Design: A survey was administered to hospital leaders at 588 randomly selected acute care hospitals, with oversampling of BPCI-A participants, from November 2020 to June 2021. Twenty strategies and 20 barriers were queried in 4 domains: inpatient, postacute, outpatient, and community resources for vulnerable patients.
Background: Health care professionals (HCPs) historically exhibit high rates of stress, burnout, and low rates of service utilization from Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and Professional Health Programs (PHPs). New and magnified stressors that accompanied COVID-19 exacerbated HCPs' risk of burnout.
Purpose: During the pandemic, this study examined Ohio HCP's utilization of EAPs and PHPs, knowledge of available services, barriers to accessing services, and likelihood of future service utilization.

A 7-year-old Lhasa Apso presented with a history of left thoracic limb lameness and neck pain. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a well-defined, extradural lesion that was hyperintense on T1-weighted (T1W) images and isointense on T2-weighted (T2W) images and T2* images located at the left lamina of the C4 vertebra. Methods And Results: We assessed temporal trends from 2002 to 2015 in IVT for acute ischemic stroke in the Nationwide Inpatient Sample using adjusted, surveyweighted logistic regression.
Our objectives were to quantify the dimensions of a fully 'closed' teat canal in dry cows and to describe recovery of the teat canal between milkings in lactating cows to assess whether and when full closure is attained, since this is an important determinant of udder health. Using an ultrasound scanner, teat canal length and diameter (proximal, midpoint and distal), teat cistern width, teat end width, whole teat width and teat wall thickness in 77 dry and 39 lactating dairy cows were measured. The dry cows represented a cross section of the dry population, with days since dry off ranging from 0 to 69 (median: 27).

After analysis of the predicted structure of the LNS2 domain in the lipid transfer protein Nir1, we suspected that this domain could serve as a novel PA biosensor. We created a fluorescently tagged Nir1-LNS2 construct and then performed liposome binding assays as well as pharmacological and genetic manipulations of HEK293A cells to determine how specific lipids affect the interaction of Nir1-LNS2 with membranes.

Background: While burnout is a well-known phenomenon among physicians and nurses, burnout among pharmacists and pharmacy personnel is understudied and less recognized.
Objectives: The primary objectives of this study were to describe and compare Ohio pharmacy personnel's self-reports of burnout and wellbeing prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A one-time online survey was completed by over 13,000 health care professionals in Ohio in July and August 2021.

Oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP)-related proteins (ORPs) 5 and 8 have been shown to deplete the lipid phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) at sites of membrane contact between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and plasma membrane (PM). This is believed to be caused by transport of PI4P from the PM to the ER, where PI4P is degraded by an ER-localized SAC1 phosphatase. A sex difference in pituitary growth hormone secretion patterns established during puberty in rats results in increased hepatic CBG production and 2-fold higher plasma corticosterone levels in females. Glucocorticoids control hepatic development and metabolic activities, and we have therefore examined how disrupting the SerpinA6 gene encoding CBG influences plasma corticosterone dynamics, as well as liver gene expression in male and female rats before and after puberty.
