Background: Updated recommendations for the treatment of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) include sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and other long-established HFrEF therapies. These drugs' mechanisms of action have yet to be fully clarified.
Objective: This study evaluated the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on the modulation of autonomic function at 1 month beyond conventional HF therapy.
Introduction: We aimed to investigate serum galanin-like peptide (GALP) levels and their correlation with hormonal and metabolic parameters in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Material And Methods: The study included 48 women (age range, 18-44 years) with a diagnosis of PCOS, and a control group that included 40 healthy females (age range, 18-46 years). Waist circumference, body mass index (BMI), and Ferriman-Gallwey score were evaluated and plasma glucose, lipid profile, oestradiol, progesterone, total testosterone, prolactin, insulin, dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEA-S), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D), fibrinogen, d-dimer, C-reactive protein (CRP), and GALP levels were measured in all study subjects.

Background: In this study, we aimed to evaluate and compare the clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, and outcomes of hospitalized patients with and without diabetes along with poorly vs. well-controlled diabetes.
Methods: A total of 341 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 confirmed by RT-PCR and/or chest imaging suggestive of COVID-19 infection were retrospectively included in this study.
Objectives: We aimed to investigate serum neudesin levels that has neural, metabolic functions in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Material And Methods: The study included 180 women (age range, 18-44 years) with a diagnosis of PCOS and a control group that included 100 healthy females (age range, 18-46 years). Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, Ferriman-Gallwey score, was evaluated and plasma glucose, lipid profile, estradiol, progesterone, total testosterone, prolactin, insulin, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S), FSH, LH, free T3, free T4, thyroid stymulating hormone (TSH), anti-thyroperoxidase (anti-TPO) antibody and neudesin levels were evaluated in all participants.
Background: Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) is a rare, life-threatening disease due to high serum low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. LDL cholesterol-lowering interventions are fundamental for patients with HoFH.
Objective: It was aimed to investigate the association between the mental status of patients with HoFH and healthy lifestyle behaviors.

Background: Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) is a rare, life-threatening inherited disease leading to early-onset atherosclerosis and associated morbidity. Because of its rarity, longitudinal data on the management of HoFH in the real world are lacking, particularly on the impact the condition has on quality of life (QoL), including the impact of the extracorporeal lipid removal procedure apheresis (LA).
Methods: The A-HIT1 study included 88 patients with HoFH aged ≥12 years receiving regular LA in 19 centers in Turkey.
Objective: In this study, we aimed to evaluate serum irisin and apelin levels in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) when they were subclinical hypothyroid and become euthyroid after levothyroxine therapy and association of these adipokines with markers of atherosclerosis such as serum homocysteine levels and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT).
Subjects And Methods: The study included 160 patients with newly diagnosed subclinical hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis and 86 euthyroid healty subjects. Serum glucose and lipid profile, insulin, HOMA, TSH, free T3, free T4, anti-thyroperoxidase and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies, homocysteine, apelin and irisin levels were measured in all study subjects.
Introduction: The American College of Radiology (ACR) has recently proposed a guideline that recommends clinicians to perform thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) on the basis of ultrasound features. In this study, we focused on nodules for which no biopsy is recommended by the ACR Thyroid Imaging, Reporting and Data System (TI-RADS) guideline.
Subjects And Methods: Two-thousand eight-hundred and forty-seven consecutive patients with thyroid nodules who underwent FNAB according to the 2009 American Thyroid Association (ATA) guideline were included.
Background And Aims: Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) is a genetic condition characterized by lethally high levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from birth, and requires rapid and aggressive intervention to prevent death due to coronary heart disease and/or atherosclerosis. Where available, lipoprotein apheresis (LA) is the mainstay of treatment to promote survival.
Methods: A-HIT1 registry was conducted with the aim of providing insight to the real-life management of HoFH patients undergoing LA in Turkey, where LA procedures are fully reimbursed and widely available.
Background: Insulin had been shown to have a mitogenic effect on thyroid cell cultures. The aim of this study was to investigate insulin resistance in patients with euthyroid nodular goiter.
Methods: Sixty-three patients with nodular thyroid disease and 83 healthy controls were included in the study.
Objective: To report a case of severe hypertriglyceridemia associated with clomiphene citrate (CC) treatment.
Design: Case report.
Setting: A patient referred to an endocrinology clinic of a state hospital.
