Objective: The study aims to assess the effect of intrauterine metformin exposure on offspring adiposity measures in childhood.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Data Sources: Medline, Embase and Cochrane Central were searched from inception to 4 October 2024.

A substantial portion of the literature investigating whether playing video games with violent content causes aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors has relied on experimental exposure to video game violence. To date, there is significant evidence suggesting these concepts are positively related, while other experiments demonstrate a null effect. A potential explanation for these contradicting findings is a failure to account for confounding such as video game performance and video game experience.

As opposed to standard-of-care systemic antibiotic prophylaxis for PJI, we developed and tested titanium femoral intramedullary implants with titania nanotubes (TNTs) coated with the antibiotic gentamicin and slow-release agent chitosan through electrophoretic deposition (EPD) in a mouse model of PJI. We hypothesized that these implants would enable local gentamicin delivery to the implant surface and surgical site, effectively preventing bacterial colonization.

Motivated by progress in quantum technologies, we illustrate a practical algebraic approach to computing such time-dependent operators. Explicitly we expand them as a linear combination of time-independent operators with time-dependent coefficients.

Although the potato genome has been fully sequenced, functional genomics research of potato lags relative to other major food crops due primarily to the lack of a model experimental potato line. Here, we present a diploid potato line, 'Jan', which possesses all essential characteristics for facile functional genomics studies.

The aim of this work was to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of FIT across different analysers at different thresholds, as a single test or in duplicate (dual FIT).
Method: This systematic review and meta-analysis searched 10 sources (December 2022).
Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the most important food crops globally and is especially vulnerable to heat stress. However, substantial knowledge gaps remain in our understanding of the developmental mechanisms associated with tuber responses to heat stress.

The dry forests of northern Peru are dominated by the legumous tree Neltuma pallida which is adapted to hot arid and semiarid conditions in the tropics. Despite having been successfully introduced in multiple other areas around the world, N. pallida is currently threatened in its native area, where it is invaluable for the dry forest ecosystem and human subsistence.

This study explored whether dupilumab, a human monoclonal immunoglobulin (Ig)G4 antibody that blocks the activity of interleukin (IL)-4/IL-13, improved safety and desensitization to peanut exposure in children with peanut allergy.
Methods: A Phase II, 24-week, multicenter, single-arm, open-label, proof-of-concept study was conducted in the USA and Canada (NCT03793608).
Background: Peanut allergy is a common, life-threatening food allergy in children. We evaluated whether dupilumab, which blocks the activity of interleukin (IL)-4/IL-13, enhances the efficacy of oral immunotherapy (OIT) AR101 in pediatric patients with peanut allergy.
Methods: A Phase II, multicenter, randomized, double-blind study was conducted in the USA (NCT03682770) in pediatric patients (6-≤ 17 years old) with confirmed peanut allergy.
Potato is a key food crop with a complex, polyploid genome. Advancements in sequencing technologies coupled with improvements in genome assembly algorithms have enabled generation of phased, chromosome-scale genome assemblies for cultivated tetraploid potato. The SpudDB database houses potato genome sequence and annotation, with the doubled monoploid DM 1-3 516 R44 (hereafter DM) genome serving as the reference genome and haplotype.

However, previous research has largely used methods that do not capture the dynamic and variable nature of SM or measure the consistency of effects across global affect and specific emotions. The current study examined the momentary relationship between positive and negative SM experiences and global positive affect (PA) and negative affect (NA), as well as specific affective states of PA and NA.

Recommendations for pediatric obesity management include dietary assessments. However, adolescents often avoid food logging through traditional methods.

Specific strength and balance exercises are effective in preventing falls among community-dwelling older adults. Nevertheless, provision of evidence-based fall prevention interventions to a broad population represents a healthcare challenge, indicating that new models for promoting exercise among community-dwelling older adults need to be addressed.

This article summarises the novel value assessments that informed this process and lessons learned for future pricing and funding decisions.
Methods: The evaluations used decision modelling to predict population incremental net health effects (INHEs), informed by systematic reviews, evidence syntheses, national surveillance data and structured expert elicitation.
: Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) exerts a paracrine effect on blood vessels and our objective was to understand PVAT molecular signatures related to cardiovascular disease. : We studied two groups: those undergoing mitral valve repair/replacement (VR, n = 16) and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG, n = 38). VR donors did not have coronary artery disease, whereas CABG donors had advanced coronary artery disease.
