Modern electrocatalysts with unique morphologies have found a special position in sustainable energy-related processes. In this article, an easy, fast, and one-step gelation procedure is introduced to fabricate a three-dimensional Pd-Co aerogel. This engineered aerogel is synthesized by inducing controlled destabilization between the resulting colloidal system from the reduction of metallic ions via sodium borohydride, followed by supercritical carbon dioxide drying.

These polymeric nanospheres were successfully characterized using a variety of techniques including field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. A carbon paste electrode was modified with the PDA-Iodine (CPE/PDA-Iodine).

The Pd-Ir aerogel is synthesized using the controlled assembly of nanoparticles (NPs) (Ir and Pd) during the facile, surfactant-free, fast, and one-step gelation process in an aqueous environment followed by CO supercritical drying. In this process, no chemical reagents are employed to induce the gelation, and change of temperature is employed to create anisotropic electrostatic repulsions between NPs.

This method offers exceptional advantages over other approaches such as environmentally friendly synthesis, being low temperature, reductant, surfactant free, simple, fast and one-pot synthesis. In this work, silver formate is added to the graphene suspension at 25 °C.

A multifunctional catalyst with the mentioned nanostructure, Pd@CuNWs, and multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and chitosan (CH) as a binder was fabricated. To investigate the morphology and bulk composition of the prepared catalyst, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD), and Inductively Coupled Plasma atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES) were utilized.
