Background: Current evidence on the effect of anesthetic-ECT time interval (AETI) is controversial. This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting the time interval between propofol injection and electro-convulsion induction and the relationship between these factors and the duration of convulsion.
Methods: In this study, 102 patients (616 sessions of ECT) were studied.
Background: Magnesium is the calcium natural physiological antagonist; it also antagonizes N-Methyl-D-aspartate receptors, therefore, providing antinociceptive properties. The reason for effective role of treatment with magnesium on decreasing opioid usage, less dissatisfaction, and good sleep quality is proposed theoretically yet. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of magnesium sulfate on decreasing opioids requirement after surgery of the lower limbs fracture by spinal anesthesia.

Diagnosis of blunt tracheobronchial injuries can be challenging. These injuries may appear within months or years following the initial trauma. In general, diagnosis and treatment of delayed presentation of tracheobronchial injuries are uncommon.

We designed this randomized double-blind controlled study to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of the neostigmine added to bupivacaine using spinal anesthesia in patients undergoing lower limb orthopedic surgery.
Methods: Sixty patients 18-80 yr old American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II, scheduled for femur surgery under spinal anesthesia, were recruited in a prospective, double-blinded, randomized way.
Background: This study aimed to evaluate the applicability of Cobra perilaryngeal airway (Cobra PLA™) for obese patients under general anesthesia and also to compare the results with those of classic laryngeal mask airway (LMA™).
Materials And Methods: Seventy-three overweight and obese patients were included in this study. The patients were randomly assigned to LMA™ or Cobra PLA™ groups.
Background: Tracheostomy facilitates respiratory care and the process of weaning from mechanical ventilatory support.
Aims: To compare the complications found in percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) and surgical tracheostomy (ST) techniques.
Methods: This was a prospective randomized study to evaluate the complications of PDT and ST procedures in patients admitted to ICU unit of a teaching hospital during 2008 to 2011.
Objective: postoperative pain increases the activity of the sympathetic system, causes hypermetabolic conditions, retains salt and water, increases glucose, fatty acid lactate and oxygen consumption, weakens the immunity system which delays wound healing. Our object was comparison of the analgesic effect of morphine and paracetamol in the patients undergoing laparotomy, using PCA method.
Method: Seventy patients who had undergone laparotomy were studied using double blind randomized clinical trial (35 patients received morphine and 35 paracetamol) in the Shahid Rajaee Center and Velayat Hospital (Qazvin, Iran).
Background: Health promotion and security of manpower in a society is one of the pillars to progress a society. Anxiety, is the most common psychological disorder in societies and occupations like nursing' anesthesia technicians and operation room technicians. The aim of this study was to investigate prevalence of anxiety, and its severity in Iranian nurses working in operation room.

The aim of this study was to compare the effect of ephedrine-lidocaine combination with lidocaine and ephedrine alone on injection pain and hemodynamic changes caused by propofol injection.
Methods: One hundred and sixty five patients were randomly allocated to five groups to receive either lidocaine 0.
