Objectives: This study examines the association between the Subjective Traumatic Outlook (STO), somatization, and physical and mental aspects of disability during wartime in Ukraine. It highlights the STO's role in emphasizing the perceptual component of trauma as a screening tool, distinguishing somatic symptoms alongside physical and psychological disability.

Method: A national sample of 1895 Ukrainians affected by the Russian invasion completed the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ), the Somatic Symptom Scale-8 (SSS-8), the World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS), and the STO.

Coping, meaning in life, and quality of life during ongoing conflict: insights from Israeli populations.

Background: Conducted in May 2024, this study examines the well-being of Israeli evacuees and non-evacuees from conflict zones. The current study explored grief reaction profiles after the October 7th, 2023, Israeli massacre regarding the loss of significant others. It investigated factors worsening pre-existing grief in 2,028 adult civilians, with 1,263 reporting pre- or post-massacre loss. A population study with 1895 Ukrainians explored the association between negative war-related beliefs and risk for PTSD and CPTSD. Negative war-related beliefs were shown to be significantly linked to increased risks for PTSD and more so for CPTSD.

Purpose: Scientific literature findings reflect the challenges experienced by healthcare professionals (HCPs) whose work is dedicated to helping clients with eating disorders (EDs) in various treatment centers (wards). These challenges can affect the professional quality of life (comprised of compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress) of HCPs. The present study delved into this relationship and explored the moderating role of dispositional optimism and the role of career duration in ED wards in the link between meaning in work and professional quality of life.

Methods: Patients applying for a permit to receive MC at a pain and palliative clinic of a university-affiliated cancer center in Israel in 2020-2021 were asked to complete self-report questionnaires assessing attitudes, knowledge, and expectations regarding MC use.
