Background: Diabetic foot ulcer is a serious and common complication of diabetes that often leads to significant morbidity and even amputation if not properly treated. Current treatment options, such as wound dressing, have limitations in promoting efficient healing. Introduction: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with huge clinical and economic burden in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) which can be curtailed by efficacious treatment. In order to achieve this, current treatment pathways for T2DM and associated costs need to be assessed.
