Although the incidence of lung cancer is increasing worldwide, the molecular mechanisms for its tumorigenesis, progression and prognosis remain unknown. As a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily, vascular endothelial growth inhibitor (VEGI) is involved in the development and progression of many malignant diseases. In the present study, the expression of VEGI and CD31 was examined via immunohistochemistry in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues obtained from 150 patients with NSCLC.

Hereditary isolated brachydactyly type C (OMIM 113100) mostly follows an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance with a marked variability in expression. This phenotype has been mapped to two different loci on chromosomes 12q24 and 20q11.2.

The prenatal detection of scaphocephaly, an isolated form of craniosynostosis, is presented. The diagnosis was made at 34 weeks of gestation in a woman with polyhydramnios. The ultrasound appearance and postnatal follow-up are presented.
