Summary: Artificial intelligence (AI)-driven laboratory automation-combining robotic labware and autonomous software agents-is a powerful trend in modern biology. We developed Genesis-DB, a database system designed to support AI-driven autonomous laboratories by providing software agents access to large quantities of structured domain information. In addition, we present a new ontology for modeling data and metadata from autonomously performed yeast microchemostat cultivations in the framework of the Genesis robot scientist system.

Introduction: Readiness is the Army's number one priority. Physical therapists (PTs) are musculoskeletal (MSK) experts and have been serving as physician extenders in a direct access role in the military since Vietnam. Utilizing a PT in the direct access role has demonstrated a reduction in imaging, medication prescribed, number of physical therapy visits, and overall reduction in healthcare utilization.

Background: Post-operative range of motion (ROM) loss and pain can limit quality of life, prolong functional return to activity, and may be sport/career threatening. Dry needling (DN) is intended assist in the treatment of these complaints.

Purpose: To determine if the addition of upper quarter DN to a rehabilitation protocol is more effective in improving ROM, pain, and functional outcome scores when compared to a rehabilitation protocol alone after shoulder stabilization surgery.

A 20-year-old military cadet injured his left shoulder after landing in an abducted and externally rotated arm position while participating in a mandatory obstacle course. Following examination, the individual was taken to the emergency department, where radiographs confirmed an anterior dislocation of the glenohumeral joint and a large Hill-Sachs lesion wedged on the glenoid. Results of noncontrast magnetic resonance imaging and a computed tomography scan confirmed the presence of a large Hill-Sachs lesion.

Background: Dry needling (DN) is an evidence based treatment technique that is accepted and used by physical therapists in the United States. This clinical commentary is the second in a two-part series outlining some of the pertinent anatomy and other issues that are needed for optimal utilization of this treatment modality. Part one was an overview of the thorax with a summary of reported adverse effects (AEs) and the underlying anatomy that could be used to minimize patient risk.

Background: Dry needling is an evidence-based treatment technique that is accepted and used by physical therapists in the United States. This treatment approach focuses on releasing or inactivating muscular trigger points to decrease pain, reduce muscle tension, and assist patients with an accelerated return to active rehabilitation.

Issue: While commonly used, the technique has some patient risk and value of the treatment should be based on benefit compared to the potential risk.

To supply the increasing demand of natural high potency sweeteners to reduce the calories in food and beverages, we have looked to steviol glycosides. In this work we report the bioconversion of rebaudioside A to rebaudioside I using a glucosyltransferase enzyme. This bioconversion reaction adds one sugar unit with a 1→3 linkage.

Study Design: Prospective cohort/predictive validity study.

Objective: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of common clinical examination items and to construct a preliminary clinical prediction rule for diagnosing hip osteoarthritis (OA) in individuals with unilateral hip pain.

Background: The current gold standard for the diagnosis of hip OA is a standing anteroposterior (AP) radiograph of the pelvis.

In their efforts to utilize individualist psychoanalysis as a tool for understanding mass behavior, the social theorists associated with the Frankfurt School increasingly came to rely on a static, essentializing construction of sexuality which ultimately led to an equation of fascism and homosexuality. Heretofore unexamined in studies of the Frankfurt School, this equation will here serve as the starting point for a fundamental critique of the concept of sexuality developed by this influential circle of Marxist thinkers. While directed at the concept of sexuality, such a critique more importantly opens up the underlying understanding of the social and psychological realms advanced by Critical Theory.

The effect of various types of cement dust on the behaviour of sulphur dioxide in the air was investigated on model systems in different experimental conditions.Experiments were carried out with PC-15z-45s (Portland-blast furnace cement containing 15% blast furnace slag), PC-25p-35s (Portland-pozzolan cement containing 25% pozzolan) and EFD (electrofilter dust).EFD most effectively removed SO2 from the air stream.
