Introduction: Urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) is an independent predictor of chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. However there is limited evidence on the burden of CKD according to uACR categories at the population level. This study estimates future clinical and financial burden of CKD according to uACR categories using the Inside CKD microsimulation.

This study estimated the national burden of hypertension, defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mm Hg, on morbidity and mortality in 2021 in France.
Methods: For all diseases causally associated with hypertension (cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney diseases, and dementia), the number and proportion of cases attributable to hypertension in adults aged ≥35 years were estimated using population attributable fractions.
Background: Malignant hypertension has not disappeared and remains the most severe form of hypertension. More than 100 years after its description, many points remain unanswered. Mechanisms, definitions, and optimal treatment are still controversial.

Methods A survey was conducted in 2023. The questionnaire contained 64 questions asking ESH-ECs representatives to estimate how patients with CKD are managed.

The pathophysiology is complex, and its actual description has been questioned. We used clustering analysis to identify clinically relevant phenogroups among patients with CRS.

The role of variants in the complement alternative pathway and therapeutic potential of complement blockade with eculizumab remain to be determined.
Methods: We report 37 cases of CFZ-TMA recorded in the French reference center for TMA with their clinical characteristics, genetic analysis and outcome according to treatments.
Thrombotic microangiopathies (TMA) are usually associated with hematological features (RH-TMA). The epidemiology of TMA limited to kidneys (RL-TMA) is unclear Therefore, patients with TMA and native kidney biopsies were identified during 2009-2022 in 20 French hospitals and results evaluated. RL-TMA was present in 341/757 (45%) patients and associated with lower creatinine levels (median 184 vs 346 μmol/L) than RH-TMA.

The association between cardiac and kidney dysfunction has received attention over the past two decades. A putatively unique syndrome, the cardiorenal syndrome, distinguishing five subtypes on the basis of the chronology of cardiac and kidney events, has been widely adopted. This review discusses the methodologic and practical problems inherent to the current classification of cardiorenal syndrome.

We present data obtained from exome sequencing (ES) analysis of patients with biopsy-proven undetermined kidney disease (UKD).
Methods: ES was proposed during routine clinical care in patients with UKD from January 2020 to December 2021.
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Accordingly, several scientific societies have released clinical practice guidelines to assist health professionals in ASCVD risk management in patients with T2DM. However, some recommendations differ from each other, contributing to uncertainty about the optimal clinical management of patients with T2DM and established ASCVD or at high risk for ASCVD.

However, the management of these patients at the stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD) remains poor, with fragmented care pathways among healthcare professionals (HCPs). Diagnosis of CKD and most of its complications is based on laboratory evidence.

Introduction: Hypertension is a burden for most kidney transplant recipients. Whether respect of hypertension guidelines results in better outcomes is unknown.
Methods: In this multicenter study, office blood pressure at 12 months following transplantation (i.
Background: The worldwide development of immune system targeting/anticancer drugs has revolutionized immuno-oncology, but their implication in thrombotic microangiopathy syndromes (TMA) is increasingly suspected. Using real-world data, the aim of this study was to identify drugs associated with TMA reporting and to describe the evolution of TMA reporting over time with a focus on these drugs.
Methods: A global disproportionality study was performed using the individual case safety reports (ICSRs) extracted from the World Health Organization (WHO) pharmacovigilance database (VigiBase) from its inception (1968) to April 30, 2022.
Background And Objectives: Activation of the complement system is involved in the pathogenesis of anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) disease. Glomerular deposits of complement 3 (C3) are often detected on kidney biopsies. The primary objective of this study was to analyze the prognostic value of the serum C3 level and the presence of C3 glomerular deposits in patients with anti-GBM disease.

Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have profoundly modified the incidence of this disease. Here, we aimed to establish some relevant epidemiological data in both pediatric and adult IgAV.
