The impact of local anesthetic volume and concentration on pain during prostate biopsy: a prospective randomized trial.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of equivalent doses of local anesthetic administered at different concentrations and volumes on pain scores in patients undergoing prostate biopsy.

Patients And Methods: This study was a single-center, randomized trial. A total of 120 patients were randomized into two groups with 60 patients in each group.

Effects of soft palate implants on acoustic characteristics of voice and articulation.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of soft palate implants on voice and articulation.

Study Design: Prospective case series.

Methods: Male subjects (n=23) diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and/or habitual snoring underwent acoustic analysis with the Multidimensional Voice Program (Kay Multi-Speech Model 3700 Advanced Version; Kay Elemetrics [KayPentax], Lincoln Park, NJ) before and 8 weeks after insertion of palatal implants to determine the effects of soft palate implants on voice and articulation.
