Background: The true incidence of contralateral occult inguinal hernia (OIH) is a debate. The repair of contralateral OIH in the treatment context of clinical symptomatic unilateral inguinal hernia (IH) is controversial. This study aimed to assess the effect and clinical benefit of preoperative ultrasound (US) in the diagnosis of contralateral OIH performed before surgery.

Urothelial bladder cancer in young adults: Diagnosis, treatment and clinical behaviour.

Introduction: The aim of the study is to reveal pathologic characteristics and clinical behaviour of patients 40 years old or younger diagnosed with and treated for urothelial bladder carcinoma.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and pathologic data of 91 patients, initially diagnosed and treated at our institution from May 1996 to December 2014. Cancer recurrence was defined as new occurrence of bladder cancer at the same or different sites of the bladder.

Ureteral stents are widely used in endo-urological procedures. However, ureteral stents can be forgotten and cause serious complications, including fragmentation, migration and urosepsis.There are few reports about forgotten and fragmented ureteral stents with stone formation.

Dorsal onlay buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty in the treatment of urethral strictures - does the stricture length affect success?

Background: Treatment of urethral strictures can be challenging, but, with appropriate preoperative evaluation and surgical planning it is possible to achieve successful results.

Objectives: To analyze if the stricture length affects the success with dorsal onlay buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty technique.

Material And Methods: Between January 2004 and June 2010 a total of 40 patients with anterior urethral stricture were treated with dorsal onlay buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty.

A new method for computer-assisted detection, definition and differentiation of the urinary calculi.

Purpose: Urinary stones are common and can be diagnosed with computed tomography (CT) easily. In this study, we aimed to specify the opacity characteristics of various types of calcified foci that develop through the urinary system by using an image analysis program. With this method, we try to differentiate the calculi from the non-calculous opacities and also we aimed to present how to identify the characteristic features of renal and ureteral calcules.

The effectiveness of transdermal electromotive administration with verapamil and dexamethasone in the treatment of Peyronie's disease.

Aim: To determine the effectiveness of transdermal electromotive administration (TEA) of verapamil and dexamethasone in the treatment of Peyronie's disease (PD).

Method: Totally, 51 patients with PD were prospectively included in the study. All patients were evaluated by history, subjective score scales, physical examination, photographs, and penile USG, before and after therapy.
