Left ventricular pseudoaneurysms occur as a consequence of left ventricular free wall rupture contained by pericardium. This clinical situation is an uncommon but lethal complication of acute myocardial infarction. Surgery usually is the preferred therapeutic option but is associated with significant perioperative risk.
