1,3,4-Thiadiazole molecules (1-4) were synthesized by the reaction of phenylthiosemicarbazide and methoxy cinnamic acid molecules in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride, and characterized with UV, FT-IR, C-NMR, and H-NMR methods. DFT calculations (b3lyp/6-311++G(d,p)) were performed to investigate the structures' geometry and physiochemical properties. Their antibacterial activity was screened for various bacteria strains such as , ATCC 13048, , , , and Gram positive such as ATCC 25923, ATCC 7644, , , ATCC, , , , alfa , and found to have an inhibitory effect on and , while molecules 1, 3 and 4 had an inhibitory effect on and alpha .
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTuberculosis (TB) primarily affects the lungs, but some of its most devastating clinical consequences arise because of its ability to spread from the lungs to other organs. Extrapulmonary TB (EPTB) constitutes 15-20% of all TB cases. Imaging findings are not always specific and can mimic many diseases; therefore, EPTB should be considered in the differential diagnosis, particularly in patients with immune system disorders (AIDS, patients receiving chemotherapy, etc.

In this study, the interaction of pristine CNT with carbazochrome, an anti-hemorrhagic or hemostatic agent, was investigated with M06-2X functional and 6-31G basis set. All probable positions of related adsorption for these kind drugs were thought-out to find out which one is energetically suitable.

The introduction of vaccines against COVID-19 caused great enthusiasm around the world as immunization might end the pandemic. However, it was previously stated that COVID-19 cases would rarely continue to occur despite immunization.

It is difficult to diagnose because it can mimic benign conditions such as a fibroadenoma, as well as malignant diseases like a carcinoma. It is also particularly difficult to distinguish breast tuberculosis from granulomatous mastitis, so other possible diagnoses should be ruled out first.

This study aimed to perform identification and antibiotic susceptibility tests of the blood cultures showing positive signals of microbial growth in the first 12 hours of incubation by using centrifugation and Gram staining of 5 ml of liquid from the vial, thus achieving faster results. This study included 152 consecutively incubated blood culture samples showing positive microbial growth signals in the first 12 hours.

In this study we aimed to identify, discuss and compare the radiologic findings of 24 cases with Brucella epididymo-orchitis (BEO) and 285 cases with non-Brucella epididymis orchitis (NBEO).
Material And Methods: The study had a retrospective design.
Background: Tuberculosis osteomyelitis is rarely seen in the diaphyseal bones. It may be confused with Brodie's abscess due to similar clinical, radiological and laboratory findings. Late diagnosis of the disease causes bone destruction.

Herein, eight isatin and thiosemicarbazone derivative compounds were re-synthesized and evaluated for DNA binding analysis including DNA protection studies using plasmid DNA (pUC19) and DNA interaction experiments using calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA). All compounds were also utilized in vitro assay to assess the antimicrobial activity of compounds against different pathogenic bacterial strains.

Objective: In this study, some of the electronic and molecular properties, such as the highest occupied molecular orbital energy (EHOMO), lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy (ELUMO), the energy gap between EHOMO and ELUMO, Mulliken atomic charges, bond lengths, of molecules having impact on antibacterial activity against A. baumannii were studied.
Background And Objectives: Many conditions such as bacterial and viral infectious diseases, mechanical obstruction due to air and calculi and drugs can cause parotitis. We present a case of unusual bilateral parotitis in a patient under non-invasive continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation in intensive care unit.
Case Report: A 36-year-old patient was admitted to intensive care unit with the diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation.
That the implementation of Electronic-Topological Method and a variant of Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) called as the Associative Neural Network are applied to the compounds of Hydrazones derivatives have been employed in order to construct model which can be used in the prediction of antituberculosis activity. The supervised learning has been performed using (ASNN) and categorized correctly 84.4% of them, namely, 38 out of 45.
