The effect of periodontal and prosthodontic therapy on glycemic control in patients with diabetes.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of periodontal and prosthodontic therapy on glycated hemoglobin A(HbA1c) level in patients with diabetes.

Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study of 70 patients suffering from diabetes who visited the Kyungpook National University Hospital between January 2016 and May 2018. Patients underwent medical evaluation for their routine check-up, which includes laboratory test for HbA1c levels.

Fragmented Red Cell as a Possible Favorable Prognostic Marker of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Associated Thrombotic Microangiopathy.

Background: Fragmented red cell (FRC) by automated hematologic analyzer is known to detect schistocyte. In this study, it is noted that FRC might be a favorable prognostic marker of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA).

Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) is a rare hematologic malignancy in children. Hyperactivation of the Ras pathway from gene mutations is known to be the key culprit in the development of JMML. In this study, we investigated Ras pathway mutations and prognostic implication in Korean patients with JMML.

Effect of p16 on glucocorticoid response in a B-cell lymphoblast cell line.

Purpose: It has been suggested that p16 has a role in glucocorticoid (GC)-related apoptosis in leukemic cells, but the exact mechanisms have yet to be clarified. We evaluated the relationship between the GC response and p16 expression in a lymphoma cell line.

Methods: We used p16 siRNA transfection to construct p16-inactivated cells by using the B-cell lymphoblast cell line NC-37.
