Organic solid electrolytes compatible with all-solid-state Li metal batteries (LMBs) are essential to ensuring battery safety, high energy density, and long-term cycling performance. However, it remains a challenge to develop an approach to provide organic solid electrolytes with capabilities for the facile dissociation of strong Li-ion pairs and fast transport of ionic components. Herein, a diethylene glycol-modified pyridinium covalent organic framework (DEG-PMCOF) with a well-defined periodic structure is prepared as a multicomponent solid electrolyte with a cationic moiety of high polarity, an additional flexible ion-transporter, and an ordered ionic channel for all-solid-state LMBs.

Catalyst systems with high catalytic activity and sustainability are highly desirable. Here, we report a design for catalytic composites with a hierarchical structure in which polydopamine (PD), multi-metallic nanocatalysts and iron oxide nanoneedles are successively deposited on a magnetic core. Background and Objectives: Transient receptor potential melastatin 7 (TRPM7) is a unique channel protein, and functionally responsible for transportation of calcium and magnesium. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising candidates for the controllable design of electrocatalysts. However, bifunctional electrocatalytic activities for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) remain challenging in COFs. The current research examines cross-cultural differences in people's daily stress experiences and the role of social orientations in explaining their experiences. Using a situation sampling method, Study 1 collected European Canadian and Japanese undergraduates' examples of stressful interpersonal and non-interpersonal situations they experienced, measuring participants' perception of the intensity and frequency of each type of situation. Studies 2 and 3 examined the effects of culture on participants' reports of stress symptoms under the situations.

Iron oxyhydroxide (FeOOH) nanostructures of different shapes were successfully synthesized on flexible textile cloth of polyester using a novel and simple technique based on hydrolysis method. Herein, Mg/Fe layered double hydroxide (MF-LDH) hollow nanospheres were successfully prepared by a one-step thermal method. After the thermal treatment of MF-LDH nanospheres at 400 °C, the MF-LDH was converted into the corresponding oxide, Mg/Fe layered double oxide (MF-LDO), which maintained the hollow nanosphere structure. The MF-LDO hollow nanospheres exhibited excellent adsorption efficiency for both As(V) and Cr(VI), showing 99% removal within 5 min and providing maximum removal capacities of 178.

Three types of surface treatments, namely, polyethyleneimine (PEI) coating, short PEI (S-PEI) grafting, and long PEI (L-PEI) grafting, were performed on polydopamine (Pdop)-based catalysts to enhance their catalytic activity and stability. Recent findings have re-examined the linguistic influence on cognition and perception, while identifying evidence that supports the Whorfian hypothesis. We examine how English and Japanese speakers perceive similarity of pairs of objects, by using two sets of stimuli: one in which two distinct linguistic categories apply to respective object images in English, but only one linguistic category applies in Japanese; and another in which two distinct linguistic categories apply to respective object images in Japanese, but only one applies in English. We conducted four studies and tested different groups of participants in each of them.
