Electrochemical capacitors (ECs) offer superior specific capacitance for energy storage compared to traditional electrolytic capacitors but face limitations in alternating current (AC) filtering due to the need for balancing fast response and high capacitance. This study addresses these challenges by developing a freestanding nanostructured carbon electrode, derived from the rapid carbonization of bacterial cellulose (BC) embedded with zeolitic imidazolate framework 8 (ZIF-8) and in situ formed carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The electrode exhibits an exceptionally low area resistance of 9.

Using lignocellulosic waste as a precursor for catalysts preparation for sewage remediation presents an effective alternative with numerous advantages in sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental compatibility. In this work, wood fiber waste collected from wood processing plants was decorated with Prussian blue (PB) and then annealed to produce carbonized wood fiber catalyst (FeC@Fe-CB).

However, commercially available furniture typically relies on surface coatings to release NAI. Over time, the degradation of these coatings leads to a significant decline in NAI release performance, presenting a persistent challenge for sustained effectiveness.

However, their poor water resistance and inability to inhibit bacterial/fungal growth limit their practicality. To address this issue, a physicochemical double-crosslinked network structure between citric acid, starch, and wood was prepared in this study by physically entangling the wood structure and chemically crosslinking the starch molecules, with citric acid preventing the activity of various enzymes and denatured proteins within microbial cells, thereby inhibiting bacterial and fungal growth.

However, the precise function of the LRRK2-regulated RAB GTPase in the brain remains to be elucidated. Here, we identify RAB12 as a robust LRRK2 substrate in the mouse brain through phosphoproteomics profiling and solve the structure of RAB12-LRRK2 protein complex through Cryo-EM analysis.

Our recent studies identified hexokinase domain containing 1 (HKDC1) as a top candidate associated with liver cancer metastasis. We aimed to compare its cell-type specificity with other HKs upregulated in liver cancer and investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying its involvement in liver cancer metastasis.

To enrich the properties of polylactic acid (PLA)-based composite films and improve the base degradability, in this study, a certain amount of poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) was added to PLA-based composite films, and PLA/PPC-based composite films were prepared by melt blending and hot-press molding. The effects of the introduction of PPC on the composite films were analyzed through in-depth studies on mechanical properties, water vapor and oxygen transmission rates, thermal analysis, compost degradability, and bacterial inhibition properties of the composite films. When the introduction ratio coefficient of PPC was 30%, the tensile strength of the composite film increased by 19.

However, it remains unclear whether CYP3A5 directly influences cancer progression. In this report, we demonstrate that CYP3A5 regulates glucose metabolism in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

However, effective catalytic performance is still challenging. Herein, an efficient catalyst (Prussian blue decorated wood-derived biochar, PBB) was constructed by introducing Prussian blue (PB) into wood-based biochar to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for removing POPs.

Cytokine receptor signalling pathways in CAR T cells can be activated by transgenic expression or injection of cytokines in the tumour, or by engineering the activation of cognate cytokine receptors. However, these strategies are constrained by toxicity arising from the activation of bystander cells, by the suboptimal biodistribution of the cytokines and by downregulation of the cognate receptor.

A modified contact force model is established based on the simplified elastic oscillator model, which can be used as a normal force in clearance joint. In the new contact force model, the component n of the indentation depth can be arbitrarily selected and it can support the calculation of contact force for both fully elastic recovery, non-elastic recovery and fully inelastic recovery.

While UBA1 loss is cell lethal, it remains unknown how partial reduction in UBA1 activity is endured. Here, we utilize deep-coverage mass spectrometry to define the E1-E2 interactome and to determine the proteins that are modulated by knockdown of UBA1 and of each E2 in human cells.

However, the mechanical properties, hydrophobicity, self-adhesion, and particularly high energy efficiency are generally unsatisfactory for current starch-based adhesives. On this premise, starch was oxidized using Fenton's reagent in a ""one-pot cooking" process.

Despite recent advances, the interplay between the CO catalytic reduction and the oxidative redox processes that are arranged on photocatalyst surfaces with nanometer-scale distances is less studied. Specifically, mechanistic investigation on interdependent processes, including CO adsorption, charge separation, long-range chemical transport (∼100 nm distance), and bicarbonate buffer speciation, involved in photocatalysis is urgently needed.

Herein, by using liquid cell transmission electron microscopy, a repeated two-stage anisotropic and pulsating periodic etching dynamic is discovered during the pencil shape evolution of a single crystal ZnO nanorod in aqueous hydrochloric acid. Specifically, the nanopencil tip shrinks at a slower rate along [0001̅] than that along the ⟨101̅0⟩ directions, resulting in a sharper ZnO pencil tip.
