Herein, we have developed a multilevel porous spherical CuO structure, wherein the mesopores are enriched with catalytic active sites and effectively stabilize Cu, while the macropores facilitate the formation of a "gas-liquid-solid" three-phase interface, thereby creating a microenvironment with an increasing water concentration gradient from the interior to the exterior. Potential-driven phase engineering and protonation synergistically optimize the reaction pathway, facilitating a switch between CO and CH.

Results: In this work, flexible disk ultramicroelectrode (UME) with highly repeatable geometry are fabricated through a simple and universal strategy that involves vacuum pulling the glass capillaries inserted with platinum wire (gold wire, carbon fiber, etc.), followed by a rapidly heated sealing and polishing process.
The ongoing interplay among plants, insects, and bacteria underscores the intricate balance of defense mechanisms in ecosystems. Regurgitant bacteria directly/indirectly impact plant immune responses, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. Here, we focus on the interaction between regurgitant bacteria, diamondback moth (DBM), and plant.

Particulate hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] is a well-established human lung carcinogen, but how Cr(VI) induces lung cancer is poorly understood. Chromosome instability, a hallmark of lung cancer, is considered a major driving factor in Cr(VI)-induced lung cancer.

However, evidence on comparative diagnostic accuracy remains inconclusive. The aim of this study was to perform an updated systematic review and meta-analysis of studies comparing prostate cancer detection rates between TP and TR ultrasound biopsies.

We analysed the changes of genioglossus function before and after MAD treatment in OSA rabbits and explored the mechanism of mitochondrial autophagy.
Methods: Eighteen male New Zealand rabbits were randomised into three groups: the control group, Group OSA, and Group MAD.
Regional collaborative governance has become a key strategy for environmental protection, especially in reducing transboundary pollution transfer. This study, set against the backdrop of environmental governance in China's Fen-Wei Plain, employs evolutionary game theory to deeply analyze the strategic choices of local governments in managing haze pollution. We developed a model incorporating 14 key variables to systematically explore the emission reduction strategies of local governments under various policy environments.

Purpose Of Review: Hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] is a well-established human carcinogen, yet the mechanisms by which it leads to carcinogenic outcomes is still unclear. As a driving factor in its carcinogenic mechanism, Cr(VI) causes DNA double strand breaks and break-repair deficiency, leading to the development of chromosome instability. Therefore, the aim of this review is to discuss studies assessing Cr(VI)-induced DNA double strand breaks, chromosome damage and instability, and neoplastic transformation including cell culture, experimental animal, human pathology and epidemiology studies.

In experiments, 66 peptides of 12 structural proteins of ASFV were predicted as potential linear B-cell epitopes using bioinformatics tools and were designed; the potential epitope proteins carried the GST tag were expressed, purified, and subjected to antigenicity analysis with porcine antiserum against ASFV, and further identified based on their immunogenicity in mice. A total of 22 potential linear B-cell epitopes showed immunoreactivity and immunogenicity.

Copper-based materials are the only catalysts that can convert CO into multicarbon products, but they are plagued by high potential, low selectivity, and poor stability. The key factors to optimize the conversion of CO into multicarbon products are to improve the adsorption capacity of intermediates on the catalyst surface, accelerate the hydrogenation step, and improve the C-C coupling efficiency.

The exploration of protein structure and function stands at the forefront of life science and represents an ever-expanding focus in the development of proteomics. As mass spectrometry (MS) offers readout of protein conformational changes at both the protein and peptide levels, MS-based structural proteomics is making significant strides in the realms of structural and molecular biology, complementing traditional structural biology techniques. This review focuses on two powerful MS-based techniques for peptide-level readout, namely limited proteolysis-mass spectrometry (LiP-MS) and cross-linking mass spectrometry (XL-MS).

Copper-based catalysts can be used for electroreduction of CO to produce C products with high added value, but suffer from poor stability and low selectivity. Herein, we propose a strategy to enhance the field effect by varying the cubic corner density on the surface of CuO microspheres for improving the electrocatalytic performance of CO reduction to C products.
