The proportion of railway high-altitude buried tunnels in complex and dangerous mountainous areas in southwest China is exceptionally high. With the characteristics of suddenness, intermittency, instantaneousness, and destruction, inrushinrushing and collapse is one of the main risks in the tunnel construction process. Therefore, in the design and construction process of tunnels in Hengduan Mountain area, it is very important to identify the mechanism of sudden s inrushing and collapse risks, predict the spatial location and scale of possible inrushing and collapse, and formulate corresponding tunnel design and construction response measures.

However, fresh bamboo shoots lignify rapidly after harvesting and contain cyanogenic glycosides, limiting the safe and healthy consumption of bamboo shoots. To this end, based on the changes in nutritional composition and the physiological properties of fresh and post-harvest bamboo shoots, factors affecting the preservation of post-harvest bamboo shoots are emphasized, including a series of physical and chemical regimes and various processing methods for post-harvest preservation.

In this study, the whole genome of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D189, an EPS-producing bacteria, was sequenced. The result showed that D189 contains a single, circular chromosome of 3,963,356 bp with an average GC content of 45.

Recently, the SEN biosynthetic pathway in Variovorax paradoxus was reported. Resembling EGT biosynthesis, the committed step of SEN synthesis is catalyzed by a nonheme Fe-dependent oxygenase termed SenA.

Objective: Hemoglobin Quong Sze (Hb QS) is one of the most common non-deletional α-thalassemia (α-thal), which is prevalent in the Southern Chinese population. However, there are still few comprehensive researches on the molecular characterization of Hb QS. So it is important to find out appropriate diagnosis and characterization of Hb QS carrier for genetic counseling.

Objective: To analyze the prevalence, genotype distribution and hematological characteristics of α,β-thalassaemia carriers in Huizhou area of Guangdong Province.
Methods: 10 809 carriers of simple β-thalassaemia and 1 757 carriers of α,β-thalassaemia were enrolled as our study cohort. The hematological parameters were detected by automated blood cell counters and automatic capillary electrophoresis.

Anti-differentiation non-coding RNA (ANCR), a long non-coding RNA, is involved in the development, progression and metastasis of various human cancers. However, its clinical significance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) still remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate ANCR expression and its clinical significance in NPC.

Objective: To report on a case with homozygous deletion of large β gene cluster and its clinical characteristics.
Methods: A total of 71 001 peripheral blood samples were subjected to capillary electrophoresis and conventional testing for common thalassemia mutations. The genotypes of suspected β gene cluster deletions were analyzed by Gap-PCR and multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA).
BACKGROUND Patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) are at an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The aims of this study were to develop a rat model of OSAS and to validate the use of the model by investigating respiratory and cardiovascular physiological parameters and morphological changes by light microscopy and electron microscopy. MATERIAL AND METHODS Sixty 3-month-old Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to the model group (n=30) and the control group (n=30).

Published threshold-based methods detect the gait patterns by means of setting a fixed threshold to divide the GCFs into on-ground and off-ground statuses. However, the threshold-based methods in the literature are neither an adaptive nor a real-time approach.
