We analyzed the biological and genome characteristics of a phage infecting enteroinvasive (EIEC), aiming to provide resources and a reference for the prevention and treatment of EIEC. With the EIEC preserved in our laboratory as the host bacterium, one strain of phage was isolated from the effluent sample from a chicken farm in Huzhou, Zhejiang and named ΦEP1. The titer, optimal multiplicity of infection, one-step growth curve, temperature, pH value, chloroform and bile salt sensitivity of ΦEP1 were determined by the double-layer agar plate method.

However, whether BBR can inhibit tumor growth by participating in ferroptosis remains unconfirmed. In this study, we demonstrated that berberine synergistically inhibited NSCLC in combination with multiple ferroptosis inducers, and this combination synergistically down-regulated the mRNA and protein expression of SLC7A11, GPX4, and NRF2, resulting in ferroptosis accompanied by significant depletion of GSH, and aberrant accumulation of reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde.

Here, it is successfully designed a Pd/UiO-66-(COOH) catalyst by using UiO-66-(COOH) as the support with uncoordinated carboxyl groups. This catalyst, featuring a moderate Pd loading, exhibited exceptional activity in RT HDO of vanillin (VAN, a typical model lignin derivative) to 2-methoxyl-4-methylpheonol (MMP), and >99% VAN conversion with >99% MMP yield is achieved, which is the first metal-organic framework (MOF)-based catalyst realizing the goal of RT HDO of lignin derivatives, surpassing previous reports in the literature.

Human CoV-OC43 (HCoV-OC43) is one of the four common human CoVs that can cause seasonal mild to moderate respiratory diseases in humans. Toxoplasma gondii is a ubiquitous apicomplexan parasite found in both humans and animals. Mongolian gerbils, which are more susceptible to both high- and low-virulence Toxoplasma strains compared with mice, are considered useful models for assessing diagnosis and treatment methods for toxoplasmosis, as well as infection by and host defense to this organism.
