The two most common systemic amyloidosis types are immunoglobulin light chain (AL) and amyloid transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis, in which the precursor proteins responsible for amyloidosis are light chain and transthyretin, respectively. Sulfate and water management can be respectively applied to control Cd accumulation in rice, but the interaction mechanisms remain unclear. Three water management coupled with five sulfate application concentrations were employed to investigate rice Cd uptake. The hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 gamma (HNF4G), a member of orphan nuclear receptors, is up-regulated and functions as an oncoprotein in a variety of tumors. Rice is one of the most susceptible plants to iron (Fe) deficiency under neutral and alkaline conditions. Alkaline stress induces H O production and increases the deposition of Fe on the root surface, which causes leaf chlorosis and Fe deficiency in rice. Gene chip and qRT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression of the nitrate reductase (NR) genes were downregulated by alkaline treatment, which resulted in significantly decreased nitrate activity and nitric oxide (NO) production in the epidermis and stele, where H O accumulated.
