The emergence of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) immunotherapy holds great promise in treating hematologic malignancies. While advancements in CAR design have enhanced therapeutic efficacy, the time-consuming manufacturing process has not been improved in the commercial production of CAR-T cells. In this study, we developed a "DASH CAR-T" process to manufacture CAR-T cells in 72 h and found the excelling anti-tumor efficacy of DASH CAR-T cells over conventionally manufactured CAR-T cells.

Children are the main susceptible group to acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and the lack of sufficient data has impeded a comprehensive understanding of its global impact. This study analyzed the annual numbers and rates of incidence, deaths, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of childhood ALL from 1990 to 2021, disaggregated by age group, gender, and socio-demographic index (SDI) at the global, regional, and national levels, based on the 2021 Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database. Although global deaths and DALYs rates for childhood ALL showed declining trends, the incidence rate fluctuated.

Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the prevalent cardiac arrhythmia and can significantly impair the quality of life (QoL). Although catheter ablation (CA) is an established treatment for AF,post-procedural complications or perceived inadequate control of AF may diminish the QoL for some patients, potentially even to levels lower than pre-procedure. Preliminary findings from our previous pilot trial indicate that acupuncture may positively influence QoL in AF patients post-CA.

Angiogenesis, a vital physiological or pathological process regulated by complex molecular networks, is widely implicated in organismal development and the pathogenesis of various diseases. SIRT7, a member of the Sirtuin family of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide + (NAD) dependent deacetylases, plays crucial roles in cellular processes such as transcriptional regulation, cell metabolism, cell proliferation, and genome stability maintenance. Characterized by its enzymatic activities, SIRT7 targets an array of substrates, several of which exert regulatory effects on angiogenesis.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the relationship between the presence of Gram-negative bacteria, specifically Helicobacter pylori (Hp), and white blood cell (WBC) counts in individuals undergoing physical exams, noting that Hp can lead to digestive issues like gastritis and ulcers.* ! -
  • Data from 864 participants showed that those infected with Hp had significantly higher WBC counts compared to those without the infection, suggesting a possible link between Hp infection and immune response.* ! -
  • Statistical analyses revealed a positive correlation between the number of Hp bacteria (measured through a breath test) and WBC counts, indicating that higher infection levels may lead to increased WBC counts in the body.* !

Background: Emerging evidence has underscored the crucial role of infiltrating immune cells in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) development and progression. With the implementation of screening programs, the incidence of early-stage NSCLC is rising. However, the high risk of recurrence and poor survival rates associated with this disease necessitate a deeper understanding of the TIME and its relationship with driver alterations.

  • * The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) is the brain's main clock and shows adaptability in its neural connections, which helps it synchronize with the external light-dark cycle, known as entrainment.
  • * This study explored how adaptive coupling impacts the SCN's ability to synchronize, finding that stronger light sensitivity, combined with adaptive coupling, can expand the range of light-dark cycles the SCN can effectively entrain to.

  • - This paper presents a method for detecting tunnel fires using an enhanced version of Dempster-Shafer (DS) evidence theory, aimed at improving multi-sensor data fusion while addressing inconsistencies and ambiguities in sensor readings, such as temperature and smoke concentration.
  • - A two-level data fusion framework is implemented: the first level focuses on feature fusion to filter out conflicting data and calculate basic probability assignments (BPA), while the second level assesses and normalizes evidence conflict to optimize the final BPA.
  • - The results demonstrate a significant improvement in fire detection probabilities, achieving up to 84.1% accuracy within 2.4 seconds, offering a better alternative to traditional methods and reinforcing the method’s effectiveness for enhancing safety in tunnel

Three isostructural transition metal-organic frameworks, [M(bta)(bpt)(HO)]·2HO (M = Co (), Ni (), Zn (), Hbta = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid, bpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole), were successfully constructed using different metal cations. These frameworks exhibit a three-dimensional network structure with multiple coordinated and lattice water molecules within the framework, contributing to high stability and a rich hydrogen-bond network. Proton conduction studies revealed that, at 333 K and 98% relative humidity, the proton conductivities (σ) of MOFs reached 1.
