We previously generated a panel of human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against Zika virus (ZIKV) and identified one, ZIKV-116, that shares germline usage with mAbs identified in multiple donors. Here we show that ZIKV-116 interferes with ZIKV infection at a post-cellular attachment step by blocking viral fusion with host membranes. ZIKV-116 recognizes the lateral ridge of envelope protein domain III, with one critical residue varying between the Asian and African strains responsible for differential binding affinity and neutralization potency (E393D).

Interestingly, the structure of 1 is different from many reported copper-based complexes, in which the [PMoO], two Cu ions and two HL were directly connected by covalent bands. Biological studies demonstrated that 1 indicated moderate antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (E.

Indole glucosinolates are known to play essential and diverse roles in Arabidopsis immunity to pathogens. However, a complete understanding of the function of these compounds in plant immunity remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the transcriptome profile in loss-of-function mutant of MYB51, the key transcription factor that controls the biosynthesis of indole glucosinolates.

It is still inconclusive whether the morphine added to the intraoperative injection mixture could make some difference. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of additional morphine injection on postoperative analgesia in TKA, and provide some useful information on morphine usage in clinical practice.

Here, we generate two gorilla adenovirus-based ZIKV vaccines that encode for pre-membrane (prM) and envelope (E) proteins (GAd-Zvp) or prM and the ectodomain of E protein (GAd-Eecto). Both vaccines induce humoral and cell-mediated immune responses and prevent lethality after ZIKV challenge in mice.

Background: Rare earth elements (REEs) have been used for the identification of the geographical origins of an increasing number of foods. This study analyzed the effects of geographical origin, harvest season, variety, and their interactions on REEs in tea leaves to investigate whether REEs were suitable for geographical identification of tea leaves. Tea leaves of different varieties and the corresponding soils were collected in different seasons from different areas of China.

Here, we show that the softness of MPs derived from tumour-repopulating cells (TRCs) isolated from three-dimensional fibrin gels enhances the MPs' drug-delivery efficiency. We found that, compared with MPs derived from tumour cells cultured in conventional tissue-culture plastic, TRC-derived MPs intravenously injected in tumour-xenograft-bearing mice showed enhanced accumulation in tumour tissues, enhanced blood-vessel crossing and penetration into tumour parenchyma, and preferential uptake by highly tumorigenic TRCs.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 50 adults who underwent total hip arthroplasty, in which the acetabular cup was placed in the anatomical position. The following parameters were measured before surgery, immediately after surgery, and two years later: mechanical axis deviation (MAD), tibiofemoral angle (TFA), femoral offset, hip-knee-ankle angle (HKA), mechanical lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA), mechanical medial proximal tibial angle, height of medial femoral condyle, height of lateral femoral condyle, and leg lengthening.
A highly sensitive and uniform three-dimensional (3D) surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrate has been fabricated by in situ ultraviolet ozone cleaning and layer-by-layer self-assembly. The SERS properties and the structural changes of the substrates were systematically studied by adjusting the cleaning time upon the in situ and post cleaning strategy. Under the optimal cleaning condition, the cleaning technology could give rise to clean and optimal surfaces for SERS analysis, thus obtaining efficient plasmonic films populated with a large number of homogeneous 'hot-spots'.

The temperature-dependent zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) measurements indicated the blocking temperature at 160 K and 180 K, respectively. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of FeO@ and FeO@ is 8.

Drug resistance arising from overexpressed efflux transporters increases the efflux of drugs and accordingly restricts the efficacy of chemotherapy. Advances in nanocarriers have provided potential strategies to cope with drug resistance. Herein, endogenous stimuli-responsive nucleus-targeted nanocarrier is developed for intracellular multidrug resistance protein 1 (MRP1) mRNA imaging and drug delivery.
