Background: The composition of intestinal flora in Chinese and Japanese has been reported in many studies but that in infants aged 0-6 years old has not been studied yet.
Methods: The distribution characteristics of the fecal flora of infants in Beijing (n=84) and Japan (n=53) were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis.
Results: This study showed the higher relative abundance of Erysipelotrichaceae_ UCG-003 and Anaerostipes in male group that of , , and in female group, especially , which was not detected in male group.
The disturbance of homeostasis in bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) adipogenesis and osteogenesis could result in pathologic consequences that plays a critical role in osteoporosis pathogenesis. In the present study, we demonstrated that miR-210-3p was abnormally upregulated within the femur of osteoporosis patients and abnormally downregulated in osteogenically differentiated BMSCs. The predicted targets of candidate miRNAs were enriched in the Pluripotent stem cell differentiation signaling.

The grain boom was achieved primarily by soybean-corn double cropping and cropland expansion-both show changing spatiotemporal patterns since the 1980s. Here, we quantified the contributions of these two strategies to corn and soybean production in Brazil using municipality-level data from 1980 to 2016.

Language disorders are a common symptom of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and global developmental delay (GDD)/intellectual disability (ID). There is a need to identify distinct clinical characteristics in children suspected of having these 2 disorders, mainly presenting as language disorders.

This meta-analysis included a false-positive report probability (FPRP) test to comprehensively evaluate the association of MTHFR C677T polymorphism with autism susceptibility among a Chinese Han population. A large-scale literature retrieval was conducted using various databases including PubMed, Embase, Wan Fang, and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) up to July 31, 2020, with a total of 2,258 cases and 2,073 controls included.

The expression levels of miR-223-5p and doublecortin-like kinase 1 (DCLK1) were detected via reverse transcription-quantitative PCR analysis. Cell viability was evaluated using Cell Counting Kit-8 assay.

Application of environmental damage cost to municipal solid waste (MSW) management is still rare. To fill such a research gap, this study established a MSW environmental damage cost assessment method using Life Cycle Impact Assessment Method based on Endpoint (LIME) model.

Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent cell death. It is already known that siramesine and lapatinib could induce ferroptosis in breast cancer cells, and some ferroptosis-related genes were closely related with the outcomes of treatments regarding breast cancer.

Vitamin D (VD) has a number of pluripotent effects, which include immune-regulation and bone metabolism. The immunomodulatory actions of 1,25(OH)2D3 are mediated by its binding to a vitamin D receptor (VDR).

Objective: To investigate the effect of different saline irrigation volume under arthroscopy on early postoperative pain and swelling of the knee.
Methods: The clinical data of 539 patients with meniscus injury treated by arthroscopic menisci reformation who met the selection criteria between July 2016 and February 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into three groups according to the continuous saline irrigation volume during the operation: 176 patients in the non-irrigation group (group A), 183 patients in the 1 liter-irrigation group (group B), and 180 patients in the 3 liters-irrigation group (group C).
Complement component 3 (C3) had been proved to be involved in the pathogenesis and exacerbation of both myasthenia gravis (MG) patients and experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis (EAMG) models. We evaluated the underlying association between five SNPs (rs344555, rs7951, rs3745568, rs366510 and rs163913) in C3 gene and Chinese adult MG patients. Our study consisted of 409 adult MG patients and 487 healthy controls.

Enabling a neural network to sequentially learn multiple tasks is of great significance for expanding the applicability of neural networks in real-world applications. However, artificial neural networks face the well-known problem of catastrophic forgetting. What is worse, the degradation of previously learned skills becomes more severe as the task sequence increases, known as the long-term catastrophic forgetting.

We aimed to evaluate the predictive value of pre-treatment TGR (TGR) for outcomes of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC) patients treated with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monotherapy. We retrospectively screened all aNSCLC patients who received PD-1 axis inhibitors in Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center between August 2016 and June 2018.

These are usually considered minor residual symptoms or normal postoperative phenomenon (NPF) in the clinic, occur frequently, and are acknowledged by surgeons worldwide. To the best of our knowledge, we report the first case of a patient who had an osteoporotic vertebral fracture (OVF) misdiagnosed as NPF after she underwent PTED as a result of lumbar disc herniation (LDH).

Materials And Methods: HepG2 cells were treated with various concentrations of curcumin and cell viability was examined using MTT assay, apoptosis was analysed using flow cytometry, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels using dihydroethidium, LDH release using an LDH cytotoxicity assay, and protein expression using western blot.
Background: Recent studies of the association between cystatin C and peripheral artery disease (PAD) have produced inconsistent results, and few studies have been conducted to investigate this association in the Chinese Han population. Therefore, we evaluated the relationship between cystatin C and PAD using Chinese data.
Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of the data from a previously published case-control study about PAD in our center.

Background: As the third most abundant element, aluminum is widespread in the environment. Previous studies have shown that aluminum has a neurotoxic effect and its exposure can impair neuronal development and cognitive function.
Aim: To study the effects of aluminum on epigenetic modification in neural stem cells and neurons.
Li-rich cathode materials are of significant interest for coupling anionic redox with cationic redox chemistry to achieve high-energy-density batteries. However, lattice oxygen loss and derived structure distortion would induce serious capacity loss and voltage decay, further hindering its practical application. Herein, a novel Li-rich cathode material, O3-type Li [Li Mn ]O , is developed with the pristine state displaying both a Li excess in the transition metal layer and a deficiency in the alkali metal layer.
