Background: Chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is the main treatment for elderly patients with non-metastatic rectal cancer who are ineligible for or decline surgery, but the optimal modality remains unclear.
Objectives: This study was to validate the safety and efficacy of comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) guided radiotherapy in older patients.
Design: An exploratory analysis of a single-arm, multicenter, Phase II trial.
Toward a selective and facile method for the synthesis of CF-containing pyrazolo[1,5-]quinazolines, we developed a [3 + 2] cycloaddition/1,3-H shift/rearrangement/dehydrogenation cascade involving generated CFCHN and 3-ylideneoxindoles with DBU as a base. The reaction is distinguished by its mild conditions, metal-free process, operational simplicity, and broad functional group tolerance, thus presenting a convenient protocol for the construction of pyrazolo[1,5-]quinazolines that are of interest in medicinal chemistry.

We developed and experimentally realized a scheme of optical nonreciprocity (ONR) by using degenerate two-level atoms embedded in an optical ring cavity. For the degenerate transition F = 4 ↔ F = 3, we first studied the cavity-transmission property in different coupling field configurations and verified that under the strong-coupling regime, the single-dark-state peak formed by electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) showed ONR. The stable ground-state Zeeman coherence for Λ-chains involved in the degenerate two-level system was found to be important in the formation of intracavity EIT.

Objective: To analyze the effects of different family environmental backgrounds and mental health problems on academic buoyancy and to explore the potential mechanisms of their effects, using a sample of 2085 medical students in Jiangsu province.
Methods: Using the multiple linear regression to analyze the impact of mental health problems on academic buoyancy in different family environment contexts.
Results: (1) Higher family income and parental literacy implied higher levels of academic buoyancy in children; (2) mental health problems and academic buoyancy were negatively related, and generalized anxiety and uncertainty stress negatively predicted academic buoyancy levels; (3) uncertainty stress may have an indirect effect on academic buoyancy levels through a partially mediating effect of generalized anxiety.

Materials And Methods: Patients with distal or middle-third, clinical primary tumor stage 3-4 and/or regional lymph node-positive rectal cancer were randomly assigned (1:1) to short-term radiotherapy (25 Gy in five fractions over 1 week) followed by four cycles of chemotherapy (total neoadjuvant therapy [TNT]) or chemoradiotherapy (50 Gy in 25 fractions over 5 weeks, concurrently with capecitabine [chemoradiotherapy; CRT]). Total mesorectal excision was undertaken 6-8 weeks after preoperative treatment, with two additional cycles of CAPOX (intravenous oxaliplatin [130 mg/m, once a day] on day 1 and capecitabine [1,000 mg/m, twice a day] from days 1 to 14) in the TNT group and six cycles of CAPOX in the CRT group.

According to the final surgical methods, the patients were divided into the laparoscopic spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with splenic vessel preservation (lap-SVP) group and the non-lap-SVP group.

With regard to improving the accuracy and completeness of LPND as well as safety, we tried an innovative method using indocyanine green (ICG) visualized with a near-infrared (NIR) camera system to guide the detection of LPLNs in patients with middle-low rectal cancer.
Aim: To investigate whether ICG-enhanced NIR fluorescence-guided imaging is a better technique for LPND in patients with rectal cancer.
Background And Objective: Intra-corporeal delta-shaped anastomosis (IDA) is an important development in laparoscopic digestive-tract reconstruction. We applied it in laparoscopic right hemicolectomy for right colon cancer and compared the short-term outcomes between the patients treated with IDA and conventional extracorporeal anastomosis (EA).
Methods: Between 1 January 2016 and 1 October 2017, 36 and 50 patients who underwent IDA and EA, respectively, were included.
Purpose: To explore the safety and feasibility of intraoperative, intraperitoneal perfusion chemotherapy with lobaplatin for colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: From November 1, 2016 to January 15, 2017, a total of 100 patients with CRC in Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science and Peking Union Medical College, who had undergone radical surgery, were randomized into two groups as follows: the lobaplatin group (50 patients) and the control group (50 patients). The time of recovery of postoperative intestinal functions, hematotoxicity, hepatic-renal toxicity, and postoperative complications were observed and analyzed, with the goal of exploring the safety and feasibility of the drug administration.
