Stanniocalcin 2 (STC2) has been identified as a prognostic marker in renal cell carcinoma. However, the role of STC2 in renal cell carcinoma is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the relationship between high expression of STC2 and sunitinib resistance in cells and the underlying mechanism.

Objective To explore the risk factors for incident endometrial injury and 3-month endometrial injury after magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound(MRgFUS)ablation of uterine fibroids(UF). Methods UF patients who were diagnosed in Peking Union Medical College Hospital and underwent MRgFUS ablation in Amcare Women's and Children's Hospital from August 2016 to October 2020 were retrospectively enrolled in this study.Clinical data of 66 UF patients were collected and compared between endometrial injury group and non-injury group.

The aims of this study were to evaluate the relationship between intraprocedural arrhythmia termination and the long-term outcomes of hybrid ablation in patients with long-standing persistent AF.
Methods: From May 2015 through April 2019, 50 patients with persistent AF with a mean duration of 73.

Ferritin is a ubiquitous iron storage protein which plays key role in regulating iron homeostasis and metabolism. In this paper, the ferritin heavy chain homologs (HCH) and light chain homologs (LCH) from Bombyx mori (BmFerHCH and BmFerLCH) were amplified through PCR and cloned into the expression vector pET-30a(+). The recombinant BmFerHCH and BmFerLCH expressed in Escherichia coli were in the form of insoluble inclusion bodies, indicating that the two proteins were not in their natural structural conformation.

We present the case of a 29-year-old man who developed ventricular tachycardia (VT) secondary to a cardiac lipoma located adjacent to the interventricular groove, which could not be fully resected. Antiarrhythmic drugs and endocardial and epicardial ablation failed to prevent VT recurrence. Finally, noninvasive stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) targeting the lipoma was performed, with a total dose of 24 Gy delivered in three fractions.

Methods: A total of 165 patients with AF who underwent catheter ablation using RMN were included. The patients were divided into two groups based on LA diameter.

Objective To evaluate the predictive value of texture analysis in the treatment of magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound surgery(MRgFUS)for symptomatic uterine fibroids. Methods Totally 16 patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids who accepted MRgFUS in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from April 2010 to January 2013 were included. Enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)was performed before treatment, immediately after treatment, and during the 12-month follow-up.

The present study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the CT-guided percutaneous RF ablation of adrenal metastases in a cohort of patients.
Methods: 33 patients with 38 adrenal metastases who received percutaneous CT-guided RF ablation between 2012 to 2015 were retrospectively reviewed.
The aim of the present study was to explore the therapeutic effect of 20 kHz ultrasound (US) and microbubbles (MBs) on rabbit VX2 liver tumors by spiral computed tomography (CT) scanning. A total of 16 New Zealand rabbits with hepatic VX2 tumors were divided into four groups: Control, MB, low-frequency US and US + MB. The treatment effect was evaluated by spiral CT scanning prior to, during and following treatment (at 0 weeks and the end of 1 and 2 weeks).

Objective: To assess the feasibility and effectiveness of transarterial embolization for management of acute massive hemorrhage in patients with duodenal ulcer.
Methods: Twenty-two patients with duodenal ulcer underwent transarterial embolization for acute massive hemorrhage in our hospital between January 2007 and December 2012. Embolic agents were coils and gelatin sponge.
Decellularization provides low immunogenicity and is only slightly subject to calcification in tissue engineering. However, the mechanical properties of the tissues are weakened after decellularization. We adopted cross-linking agent 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) to treat decellularized porcine pulmonary artery valvular leaflets to improve their mechanical properties.

Methods: The prospective study included 111 consecutive patients with solitary thyroid nodules (23 malignant and 88 benign nodules) who underwent DWI. The DWI signal and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of the nodules were determined and correlated with the histopathologic findings.

Objective: To investigate the value of percutaneous balloon dilation and percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) catheter maintenance in the treatment of benign biliary strictures.
Methods: The clinical data of 21 patients with benign biliary strictures at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from June 2005 to June 2011 were retrospectively studied, in which 12 patients in severe stricture (stenosis > 70%) were treated with percutaneous balloon dilation and PTCD catheter placed across the stricture, while another 9 patients in median stricture (stenosis < 70%) were only treated with PTCD catheter maintenance.
Results: Of the 12 patients underwent balloon dilation and 6 - 12 months (median: 9 months) of PTCD catheter placement, 11 patients had the catheter successfully removed.
Background: Diabetes mellitus is associated with coronary dysfunction, contributing to a 2- to 4-fold increase in the risk of coronary heart diseases. The mechanisms by which diabetes induces vasculopathy involve endothelial-dependent and -independent vascular dysfunction in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of vascular large conductance Ca(2+)-activated K(+) (BK) channel activities in coronary dysfunction in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

Methods: Twenty-eight consecutive patients with RVD and mitral valve prosthesis and a 1:2 matched control group (n = 56) without RVD underwent reablation for recurrent AT after catheter ablation of long-standing persistent AF.
Results: Macro- or localized reentrant ATs were identified in 47 (87 %) of 54 ATs from RVD group and in 65 (78.
Background: The success and complication rates of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation may be related to regional differences in left atrial (LA) wall thickness. The purpose of this study was to investigate the transmural LA wall thickness in various regions.
Methods: We measured LA wall thickness in 36 human heart specimens using calipers at three planes including left pulmonary veins (PVs) vestibule plane, right PVs vestibule plane and the middle plane between the two.
