Depression exists with high prevalence and heavy disease burden. Stress events play a key role in the occurrence of depression, but the pathological mechanism has not been fully clarified by reason of the complexity and heterogeneity. In recent years, neuroinflammation as a pathological mechanism of depression has received extensive attention.

In histologically differentiated early gastric cancer (EGC), the presence and the clinicopathological significance of the primitive phenotype remain unclear.
Methods: Using immunohistochemical staining we detected the expression of three primitive phenotypic markers SALL4, Glypican-3(GPC3), and AFP in whole tissue sections of differentiated EGC (gastrectomy specimens, n = 302).

Unlike the single grating Czerny-Turner configuration spectrometers, a super-high spectral resolution optical spectrometer with zero coma aberration is first experimentally demonstrated by using a compound integrated diffraction grating module consisting of 44 high dispersion sub-gratings and a two-dimensional backside-illuminated charge-coupled device array photodetector. The demonstrated super-high resolution spectrometer gives 0.005 nm (5 pm) spectral resolution in ultra-violet range and 0.

A set of prism-like Au samples with different angles was prepared and experimentally investigated.

In this work, we present a new spectrometer with an ultrahigh resolution of better than 0.012 nm/pixel in the 170-600 nm spectral region using a grating-integrated module that consists of 19 subgratings without any moving parts.

Methods: We randomly assigned 140 BPH patients with the prostate volume <100 ml to receive PKRP (n = 70) or PKERP (n = 70) in our hospital from July 2013 to July 2015. We compared the maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), residual urine volume (RUV), and the rates of ED and retrograde ejaculation before and after surgery as well as the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups of patients.
Optical spectrometers play an important role in modern scientific research. In this work, we present a two-channel spectrometer with a pixel resolution of better than 0.1 nm/pixel in the wavelength range of 200 to 950 nm and an acquisition speed of approximately 25 spectra per second.

Nevertheless, in gastric cancer, collagen status and its prognostic role remain unclear. Using picrosirius red staining and immunohistochemistry, we found that collagen deposition was significantly increased in gastric cancer when compared with non-neoplastic tissues, and in cancer stroma, more immature collagen components were present, suggesting a qualitative change.

Methods: A total of 225 cases of gastric cancer were histologically reviewed, and GMS was evaluated for each case. The association between GMS and patients' survival was investigated.
Background: Oocyte vitrification is widely used throughout the world, but its clinical efficacy is inconsistent and depends on the vitrification media. This study compared the developmental potential and clinical results of in vivo matured oocytes cryopreserved with different vitrification media.
Methods: This retrospective study involved vitrified-warmed oocytes at one in vitro fertilization laboratory.

The linear regression models and variation partitioning method were used to analyze the relative and pure effects of area, climate, and boundary constraint on altitudinal patterns of plant species diversity in the Baishuijiang Natural Reserve. The results showed that diversities of overall plant species and different group species exhibited humped-shaped patterns and the peaks were below the mid-point of the elevation span. The patterns were shaped by all factors together.

The prognostic role of perineural invasion (PNI) in gastric cancer remains unclear. We hypothesized that the diameter of the tumor-involved nerves might be a useful indicator for prognosis. By labeling nerves and cancer cells in 204 cases of gastric cancer with single or double immunochemistry, we found that 146 cases were PNI positive and that 58 were PNI negative.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFContext: In gastric cancer, the significance of perineural invasion remains controversial. Detecting perineural invasion with hematoxylin-eosin staining often leads to misdiagnosis. Labeling nerves by immunohistochemistry greatly assists perineural invasion detection, but it might also be misdiagnosed, because scattered cancer cells are difficult to recognize.

In this study, to create small-segment chromosome translocations with beneficial agronomic characters, the progeny of wheat-rye substitution lines 5R/5A and 6R/6A were selected from generations F to F for rye-specific characteristics. A PCR primer and specific simple sequence repeat marker for rye were used in F populations to detect rye chromatin and to amplify a specific chromosome band in six translocation lines (06-6-5, 06-6-6, 06-6-9, 6-26-1, 7-23, and 7-33).

There is no consensus of the optimal transfer strategy for normal responders or high responders. The current study aimed to find the optimal transfer strategy for different subgroups of patients.

Objective: To investigate the sensitivity of gastric cancer stem cells (GCSCs) to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and to explore the cytological mechanism of drug-resistance of gastric cancer.
Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was employed to examine expression of stem cell marker CD44 and drug-resistance protein thymidylate synthase (TS) in 71 cases with gastric cancer. Based on morphology of cell colonies derived from AGS gastric cell line, colonies consisting of GCSCs were isolated, and expression of CD44 and TS, as well as self-renewal capacity of GCSCs were detected.
A path-folded infrared image spectrometer with five sub-gratings and five linear-array detectors was applied to a broadband optical monitoring (BOM) system for thin film deposition. Through in situ BOM, we can simultaneously acquire the thickness and refractive index of each layer in real time by fitting the measured spectra, and modify the deposition parameters during deposition process according to the fitting results. An effective data processing method was proposed and applied in the BOM process, and it shortened the data processing time and improved the monitoring efficiency greatly.

p204, an inteferon-inducible protein, is known to play an important role in modulating cell proliferation, cell cycling, and the differentiation of various tissues, including osteoblasts. In order to determine the role of p204 during development in vivo, the teleost zebrafish (Danio rerio), an established vertebrate model for developmental studies, was employed. p204 cDNA was introduced into zebrafish by microinjection, and p204 was ectopically expressed throughout the whole embryo during the early stages of zebrafish embryogenesis, then its expression gradually decreased, mainly in ventrally located cells and retina capsules.

The high molecular weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GS) 7+8 were introduced into the Long 97-586 (1, 7, 2+12) wheat variety (Triticum aestivum) by 5 consecutive backcrosses with biochemical marker-assisted selection. Nearly isogenic lines (NILs) of HMW-GS 7 and 7+8 were obtained, and the NILs were planted in the experimental field at the Crop Breeding Institute of Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Science in 2004-2006. The field experiments were designed using the two-column contrast arrangement method with six replicates in 2004-2005 and four replicates in 2006.

In the analysis of the spatial interference with consideration of the lateral shift effect, a set of new analytic formulae to normalize the intensity of the s-and p-polarized wave packet was obtained to reduce the error of the ellipsometry parameters significantly as the optical path difference delta is close to mpi. The principle and method developed in this work also can be applied to other film structures in more general applications.
