This study was to evaluate the potential of human intestinal bacterial species in the biotransformation of rutin to quercetin and isoquercitrin which is rarer than rutin in nature and could more potently inhibit the growth of some cancer cell lines. Bacterial strains isolated from healthy human fecal samples were identified through 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis and genome analysis. Isoquercitrin and quercetin were identified and quantified by UHPLC-QQQ-MS in multiple reaction monitoring mode.

Objectives: The diagnosis of tuberculosis otitis media (TBOM) remains a great challenge. This study aims to suggest potential diagnostic clues and proper management of TBOM.
Methods: The study is a retrospective review of TBOM cases that were treated at our department, between January 2015 and June 2023.
Background: Gastric cancer-related morbidity and mortality rates are high in China. Patients who have undergone gastric cancer surgery should receive six cycles of chemotherapy according to their condition. During this period, intestinal obstruction is likely to occur.

Current research on CICI has focused on breast cancer and Hodgkin's lymphoma. Whether patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) undergoing chemotherapy have cognitive impairment has not been fully investigated.

Methods: We selected 5,308 participants with AMI from the prospective, nationwide, multicenter CAMI registry, of which 2,081 were diabetic and 3,227 were nondiabetic. Patients were divided into high FPG and low FPG groups according to the optimal cutoff values of FPG to predict in-hospital mortality for diabetic and nondiabetic cohorts, respectively.
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of fire acupuncture (FA) on plaque psoriasis (PP), exploring its suitable syndrome types, in order to achieve better therapeutic effects, accelerate the possibility of psoriasis skin lesion recovery, and provide assistance for clinical treatment.
Methods: A total of 8 patients with PP aged between 18 and 60 years were recruited and treated with FA once a week, and the lesion area and severity index (PASI), visual analog scale and pruritus were measured before, 2, 4 and 8 weeks after treatment and at the follow-up period (week 12), respectively. Visual analog scale, and dermoscopy were used for assessment.
Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a common cancer with increasing morbidity and mortality due to changes of social environment.
Aim: To evaluate the significance of serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) and tumor size changes pre- and post-neoadjuvant therapy (NAT).
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted at the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Translational Research for Cancer Metastasis and Individualized Treatment, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital.
The previously undescribed lactone ring-opening enterolactone and its sulphate were purified along with the lactone counterparts from the urine of dairy sheep fed flaxseed cake. The structures were determined by NMR and MS analyses. The ring-opening and lactone forms underwent mutual transformation with changes in pH and milk could protect the lactone form.

Particle dispersion is a key physical parameter of electrode materials, and understanding its impact on electrochemical performance is a prerequisite for obtaining high-performance PBAs. In this article, two PBAs samples with different particle dispersion were synthesized through sodium citrate-assisted co-precipitation method by means of staying and stirring.

Due to its structural characteristics similar to flavonoids and phenolic acids, dihydrochalcone phlorizin (PHZ) was selected as a reference, to illustrate its step-by-step metabolic fate associated with microbiota. The results confirmed that the metabolic flux of PHZ starts with its conversion to phloretin (PHT), sequentially followed by the formation of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid (PHA), and 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid (4-HPAA).

Methods: A total of 2,514 patients with STEMI from 32 hospitals participated in the China Acute Myocardial Infarction registry between January 2013 and September 2014. The success of fibrinolysis was assessed according to indirect measures of vascular recanalization.
Objective: To develop and validate a user-friendly risk score for older mitral regurgitation (MR) patients, referred to as the Elder-MR score.
Methods: The China Senile Valvular Heart Disease (China-DVD) Cohort Study functioned as the development cohort, while the China Valvular Heart Disease (China-VHD) Study was employed for external validation. We included patients aged 60 years and above receiving medical treatment for moderate or severe MR (2274 patients in the development cohort and 1929 patients in the validation cohort).

Background: Follicle dysplasia can cause polycystic ovary syndrome, which can lead to anovulatory infertility. This study explored gene(s) that may contribute to polycystic ovary syndrome.
Methods: Three animal models of polycystic ovary syndrome were created by treating 3-week-old rats respectively with estradiol valerate, testosterone propionate, or constant illumination for 8 weeks.

Context: Clinical thinking encompasses the critical analysis, judgment, and decision-making pertaining to the existing or potential nursing problems of patients. It plays a pivotal role in effectively executing clinical nursing work in alignment with the prescribed nursing procedures. Proficient clinical thinking empowers nurses with the capability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.

Methods: A total of 2190 patients with STEMI who underwent primary angiography within 12 h from symptom onset were selected from the prospective, nationwide, multicenter CAMI registry. TyG index was calculated with the formula: Ln [fasting triglycerides (mmol/L) × fasting glucose (mmol/L)/2].
Purpose: This study explores the association between the duration and variation of infant sleep trajectories and subsequent cognitive school readiness at 48-50 months.
Methods: Participants were 288 multi-ethnic children, within the Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes (GUSTO) cohort. Caregiver-reported total, night and day sleep durations were obtained at 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 using the Brief Infant Sleep Questionnaire and 54 months using the Child Sleep Habits Questionnaire.
Objective: To explore the effects of Zishen Yutai Pills (ZYPs) on the quality of oocytes and embryos, as well as pregnancy outcomes in patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) receiving in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). The possible mechanisms, involving the regulation of bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP15) and growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9), were also investigated.
Methods: A total of 120 patients with DOR who underwent their IVF-ET cycle were randomly allocated to 2 groups in a 1:1 ratio.
Introduction: Chronic severe aortic regurgitation (AR) has a poor long-term prognosis, especially among old-age patients. Considering their advancing age, the surgical approach of aortic valve replacement may not always be the best alternative modality of treatment in such patients. Therefore, this study's primary goal was to provide an initial summary of the medium- and short-term clinical effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) guided by accurate multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) measurements in patients with severe and chronic AR, especially in elderly patients.

We reported previously that hydrogen sulfide (HS) exerts an antihypertensive effect by suppressing ROS production. The aim of the current study is to further examine the effects of endogenous and exogenous HS on UII-induced cardiovascular effects by using an integrated physiology approach.

The fluctuations can change the biota and ecological environment in the island. Carruthers is endemic to Hainan Island and is classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
