Background: Fractures of the long bones in the lower limbs are injuries that cause severe to extremely severe pain, posing risks to the patient's circulation, respiration, and even life. Pain management for patients with lower limb long bone fractures in the emergency department is critically important.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of ultrasound-guided femoral and sciatic nerve blocks in patients with lower limb long bone fractures in the emergency department (ED).
Introduction And Importance: Primary malignant pericardial mesothelioma is an extremely rare disease with a poor prognosis. Currently, there are no specific guidelines for diagnosis and treatment in Vietnam and international countries for this disease, so treatment experiences from previous clinical cases are very important in the management of this disease.
Case Presentation: The research team reports a clinical case diagnosed and treated with a combination of surgery and chemotherapy using the Pemetrexed + Carboplatin regimen at the Oncology Center.
This study investigated the rate of agricultural occupational accidents among rice farmers in rural Northern Vietnam and identified factors associated with these accidents. A cross-sectional study was conducted on rice farmers in rural Thai Binh province, Northern Vietnam. A multi-stage random sampling method was used to select 1,171 rice farmers from six communes.

Case Presentation: A 33-year-old male presented with a chopstick lodged in his right eye.
Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity globally. This study aimed to measure the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of TBI patients in Vietnam and evaluate the associated factors.
Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted in Thai Binh, Vietnam, from February to September 2020.
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is among the leading causes of death in Vietnam. Survivors of TBI suffer from functional and cognitive deficits. Understanding that Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are crucial in measuring the treatment and health-related quality of life among patients with TBI.

These parasites cycle between insect vectors, such as tsetse flies and vertebrate hosts, undergoing morphological, cellular, and biochemical changes. They have remarkable immune evasion mechanisms to escape the host's innate and adaptive immune responses, such as surface coat antigenic variation and the induction of the loss of specificity and memory of antibody responses, enabling the prolongation of infection.

Background: This study aimed to measure the prevalence of malocclusion and identify associated factors among elementary school students in Vietnam.
Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted from March to December 2022 at six primary schools located in the province of Thai Binh, Vietnam. A total of 873 students were recruited for research purposes.
Background: Thyroid microcarcinoma (TMC) incidence has significantly increased in recent decades. The rates of lymph node metastasis extrathyroidal extension have been significantly different in patients with TMC ≤5 mm versus those with size >5 mm. The current analysis aimed to examine the clinicopathologic features of TMC measuring <5 mm and to compare them with those of TMC ≥5 mm.

This study assesses knowledge regarding risk factors of falls, as well as attitudes and practices towards fall prevention among older adults in the rural community. A cross-sectional study was performed in four rural communes in Thai Binh province, Vietnam.

This study was conducted to describe the knowledge and practices on dental caries prevention among parents of preschool children in Vietnam and identify associated factors. A cross-sectional study was conducted in three preschools in Northern Vietnam in 2020. A total of 316 parents of preschool children were randomly recruited.

However, epidemiological studies on neuropathic pain have been largely limited in Vietnam.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on adult Vietnamese industrial workers across three manufacturing plants.
Spinal cysticercosis is a rare and severe cysticercosis complication. The pathology is from the inflammatory reaction and granuloma formation around the eggs, which cause focal neurological deficits. Because of the rarity of this condition, diagnosis may be delayed and confused with other myelopathies such as neoplasms or myelitis.

In Vietnam, the impacts of injury on sleep status are usually amplified in urban areas due to disproportionate distribution of mental care services between the city and less developed settings. Our study investigated deterioration in sleep quality and identified associated demographic factors among traffic injury patients in an small urban setting of Vietnam.

Conflicts between these two groups of road users are exceptionally high in the shared right-of-way environments. Benchmarking methods of conflict assessments are mostly based on statistical analysis with limited data sources.

Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and its variants are still spreading rapidly with deadly consequences and profound impacts on the global health and world economy. Without a suitable vaccine, mobility restriction has been the most effective method so far to prevent its spreading and avoid overwhelming the heath system of the affected country. The compartmental model SIR (or Susceptible, Infected, and Recovered) is the most popular mathematical model used to predict the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to plan the control actions and mobility restrictions against its spreading.

NDV-HXP-S is an inactivated egg-based Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccine expressing the spike protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Wuhan-Hu-1. The spike protein was stabilized and incorporated into NDV virions by removing the polybasic furin cleavage site, introducing the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail of the fusion protein of NDV, and introducing six prolines for stabilization in the prefusion state.

Microvascular decompression (MVD) of hemifacial spasm (HFS) associated with the vertebral artery (VA) shows high rates of incomplete cure and complications compared to non-VA-related HFS.
Case Presentation: A 39-year-old male who presented with a 2-year history of progressive left-sided typical HFS.
Objectives: Pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital malformation, and part of its treatment requires the removal of the aberrant artery by surgical means.
Materials And Methods: Five patients treated at Military Hospital 103 - Department of Thoracic Disease were diagnosed with PS via CT scan, MS-CT, and DSA, and histopathological data were evaluated retrospectively between January and December 2019.
Results: In all patients, surgery is the preferred option, with two cases of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (one lobectomy and one wedge resection), and three cases of hybrid video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (adhesive inflammation was observed, the bronchus is challenging to reveal, to resect, and tend to bleed when resecting).
Cardiac Output (CO) is a significant hemodynamic index for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Impedance cardiography (ICG) is one of the non-invasive methods widely investigated for its simplicity, cost-effectiveness and ability to measure cardiac output continuously. However, measured ICG signals are contaminated by the respiratory artefact leading to difficulties in determining characteristic points in the signal waveform, thereby lowering the accuracy of measurement results.

This hard-to-reach population faces a very low awareness and access to mental health care, especially in developing countries. The objectives of this study were to design and assess a quick screening tool (QST) that community-based organisations (CBO) could routinely apply to a Vietnamese population of people who inject drugs (PWID), in order to refer them appropriately to mental health specialists.
