Nucleic acid-based therapies hold promise for treating previously intractable diseases but require effective delivery vectors to protect the therapeutic agents and ensure efficient transfection. Cationic polymeric vectors are particularly notable for their adaptability, high transfection efficiency, and low cost, but their positive charge often attracts blood proteins, causing aggregation and reduced transfection efficiency. Addressing this, we designed an anionic peptide-grafted dextran (Dex-LipE5H) to serve as a cross-linkable coating to bolster the stability of cationic polymer/nucleic acid complexes.

Objective: To assess the effect and safety of Hydroxysafflor Yellow A for Injection (HSYAI) in treating patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and blood stasis syndrome (BSS).

Methods: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, multiple-dose, active-controlled phase II trial was conducted at 9 centers in China from July 2013 to September 2015. Patients with moderate or severe AIS and BSS were randomly assigned to low-, medium-, high-dose HSYAI groups (25, 50 and 70 mg/d HSYAI by intravenous infusion, respectively), and a control group (Dengzhan Xixin Injection (, DZXXI) 30 mL/d by intravenous infusion), for 14 consecutive days.

The development of a method for the Pd(ii)-catalyzed denitrogenative coupling of arylhydrazines to give functionalized biaryls in good yield, using aryl bromides or aryl iodides as convenient and inexpensive aryl sources, is reported. High functional group tolerance is demonstrated for electronically distinct arylhydrazines as well as aryl halides. The desired products were isolated in good to excellent yields for 58 examples.

Owing to their unique properties such as low cytotoxicity and excellent biocompatibility, poly(aspartic acid) (PAsp) and polysaccharides are good candidates for the development of new biomaterials. In order to construct better gene delivery systems by combining polysaccharides with PAsp, in this work, a general strategy is described for preparing series of polysaccharide-graft-PAsp (including cyclodextrin (CD), dextran (Dex) and chitosan (CS)) gene vectors. To evaluate and compare the clinical effect of camphophenic (CP) and iodoform used as intracanal medication in root canal therapy for periapical periodontitis, 305 teeth suffering from periapical periodontitis in 245 subjects were divided into two groups. The experimental group of 163 teeth was treated with CP and iodoform, while the control group of 142 teeth was treated with CP alone. The clinical effect after 10 days was observed.
