Background: Photothermal therapy (PTT) is one of the effective and non-invasive strategies which hold great promise for improving the treatment of cancer cells. PTT is based on activating a photosensitizer by infrared light irradiation and producing heat and reactive species and apoptosis in the tumor area.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of photothermal/chemotherapy on melanoma cancer cells using poly (2-amino phenol)/gold (P2AO/AuNPs) and doxorubicin (DOX).
Objective: Novel strategies for treating triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) are ongoing because of the lack of standard-of-care treatment. Nanoframed materials with a protein pillar are considered a valuable tool for designing multigoals of energy-absorbing/medication cargo and are a bridge to cross-conventional treatment strategies.
Methods: Nanobioconjugates of gold nanoclusters-bovine serum albumin (AuNCs-BSA) and doxorubicin-AuNCs-BSA (Dox-AuNCs-BSA) were prepared and employed as a simultaneous double photosensitizer/sonosensitizer and triple chemotherapeutic/photosensitizer/sonosensitizer, respectively.
Road dust is a mixture of fine and coarse particles released into the air due to an external force, such as tire-ground friction or wind, which is harmful to human health when inhaled. Continuous dust emission from the road surfaces is detrimental to the road itself and the road users. Due to this, multiple dust monitoring and control techniques are currently adopted in the world.

In this study, a nanohybrid of titanium dioxide-gold-polyethylene glycol-curcumin (TiO-Au-PEG-Cur NH), as a novel US sensitizer, was synthesized, characterized, and applied for SDT of HeLa cancer cells in 2D monolayer model, and also a 3D spheroid model to bridge the gap between 2D cell culture and in vivo future studies. TiO-Au-PEG-Cur NH contained TiO nanoparticles of 36 ± 11 nm in diameter, PEG-curcumin as a filler, and gold nanoparticles of 21 ± 7 nm in diameter with a high purity and a 35:17 of Ti:Au ratio (W/W), and it had a band gap of 2.

This study aimed to prepare Thymol (TY)-loaded bovine serum albumin (BSA) nanoparticles surface-modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugated with folic acid (FA) and evaluate their inhibitory activity on cancer cells. The TY-BSA-PEG-FA was characterized using DLS, FESEM, and FTIR.

By extending the Measurify framework, which is dedicated to efficiently building measurement-rich applications on MongoDB, we were able to make the process of setting up the reporting tool just a matter of editing a couple of .json configuration files that specify the names and data format of the project's progress/performance indicators.

In this research, platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) and mesoporous platinum (MPt) were first synthesized and then evaluated as novel sonosensitizers.
Methods: Ultrasound waves were radiated at two different power densities and two different pulse ratios to develop a pulsed radiation route for SDT of the malignant melanoma cell line C540 (B16/F10).
To date, approximately 30-50% of food is wasted from post-harvesting to consumer usage. Typical examples of food by-products are fruit peels and pomace, seeds, and others. A large part of these matrices is still discarded in landfills, while a small portion is valorized for bioprocessing.

We generated a new vision dataset with the goal of advancing semantic segmentation to identify and quantify vehicle-induced dust clouds from images. We conducted field experiments on 10 unsealed road segments with different types of road surface materials in varying climatic conditions to capture vehicle-induced road dust.

Methods: Twenty-seven youth elite Under-15 football players were daily monitored for training load measures during 38 weeks. At the beginning and at the end of the season, all players were assessed for physical fitness.
Background: Graft volume as a surrogate of nephron numbers correlates with allograft function. The primary aim of this study was to correlate renal volume determined by ultrasound, adjusted to recipient clinical parameters in order to determine post-transplant renal function at the end of the first year.
Materials And Methods: A total of 140 patients were enrolled in this study, including 75 males, with a total mean age of 41.
The response time is considered as one of the most important criteria for the quality of given care to the injured. This research aimed to investigate the frequency and causes of prehospital emergency delays in the 115 emergency center, in city of Mashhad, in 2015. In this cross-sectional study, 21,142 missions performed in 2015 were investigated, from among which 640 missions with delays in systematic sampling were recognized.

Proper use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) can improve all crisis management phases and crisis communication cycles according to the needs of stakeholders. The purpose of this review article is to identify which ICTs have been used in effective crisis management and what managerial tasks they support.

The medical device aims at interfering with the cell's focal adhesion establishment and maturation around implantable devices placed in soft tissues by the symmetrical array on its surface. A total of 25 Komagataeibacter strains was evaluated over a three-step selection.

Prawns were fed five formulated diets containing different lutein levels, 0 (control), 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg/kg. Growth performance, except hepatosomatic index, was affected by different lutein levels, and biochemical parameters (urea, uric acid, glucose, creatinine, and triglycerides) decreased.

The aim of the present study is to assess the use of polylactic acid (PLA) bottles as an alternative to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) ones for high-pressure processing (HPP) of apple juice. The treatment of PLA bottles at 600 MPa for 3 min did not cause alterations in the packaging shape and content, confirming the suitability of PLA bottles to withstand HPP conditions as well as PET bottles. Quantification of total mesophilic bacterial and fungal load suggested HPP treatment can be effectively applied as an alternative to pasteurization for apple juice packed in PLA bottles since it guarantees microbial stability during at least 28 days of refrigerated storage.
