[Intradiverticular tumors of the bladder: diagnostic and therapeutic problems: report of 32 cases].

Background: The transitional cell carcinoma within the bladder diverticular is a rare and poorly known entity.

Aim: To evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of transitional cell carcinoma within the bladder diverticular.

Methods: Thirty men and two women (median: 70 years; 44- 83 years) were included.

RéSUMé: Le carcinome épidermoïde de l'urètre masculin est une tumeur rare, les tumeurs de l'urètre tous types confondus représentant moins de 1 % des tumeurs de l'appareil urinaire. Le pronostic reste défavorable malgré un traitement chirurgical énergique. La radiochimiothérapie semble être un traitement prometteur, mais son rôle doit être défini par d'autres études.

Background: Intrarectal lidocaine application and apical periprostatic nerve block are a safe technique that significantly reduces pain during transrectal prostate biopsy.

Aim: We compare prospectively the effectiveness of intrarectal lidocaine gel versus periprostatic lidocaine injection during transrectal ultrasound -guided prostate biopsy.

Methods: From June 2005 to February 2006, 100 consecutive patients underwent prostatic biopsies.
