Extracorporeal CPR (ECPR) involves venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) in patients with sudden and unexpected pulse loss due to heart-stopping mechanical activity. ECPR in patients with cardiac arrest has been shown to significantly improve the prognosis. In emergency rooms, interdisciplinary coordination exists among emergency medicine, cardiology, critical care, and perfusion technology.
