Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a multifaceted metabolic and hormonal disorder in females of reproductive age, frequently associated with cardiac disturbances. This research aimed to explore the protective potential of adropin and/or tirzepatide (Tirze) on cardiometabolic aberrations in the letrozole-induced PCOS model. Female Wistar non-pregnant rats were allotted into five groups: CON; PCOS; PCOS + adropin; PCOS + Tirze; and PCOS + adropin+ Tirze.

In this study, 60 adult male rats were used and divided into a control group receiving a standard pellet diet, a kaempferol-treated group receiving kaempferol (250 mg/kg), a high-fat diet (HFD) group receiving HFD, and a kaempferol-treated HFD group. At the end of the experiment, the total lipid profile and liver enzymes were assayed in the serum.

Our results showed a significant decrease in chlorophyll a and b as well as the maximum quantum efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm) in wheat plants under drought conditions compared to control in the two seasons. Drought stress significantly reduced relative water content (RWC%) in the stressed plants compared with the control.

The study included 120 patients with 123 thyroid nodules, of which 67 had total thyroidectomy. The American College of Radiology Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data Systems (ACR-TIRADS) were evaluated for all nodules.

First, cellulose pulp was isolated from sugarcane bagasse by subjecting it to acid hydrolysis, alkaline hydrolysis and bleaching with sodium chlorate (NaClO). Then, the bleached cellulose pulp was chemically modified with acrylonitrile monomer in the presence Fenton's reagent (Fe/HO) to carry out grafting of acrylonitrile onto cellulose by atom transfer radical polymerization.

The aim of the current study was to assess the probable protective effect of empagliflozin in type 2 diabetics who are suffering from DPN.
Methods: Fifty eligible type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) cases with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were recruited in this study and classified into 2 groups.
Stem rust, caused by f.sp. , is one of the most dangerous rust diseases on wheat.

We aimed to evaluate the possible effects of Dapagliflozin in changing the peritoneal solute transfer rate, reducing peritoneal glucose absorption, and, hence, increasing ultrafiltration.
Methodology: A pilot pre-post interventional study was used to evaluate 20 patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) enrolled in a one-month self-controlled study [Trial#: NCT04923295].
Normal gonadal function can be disrupted by hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism disturbs testicular function directly and centrally by affecting the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis with unclear mechanism. As nesfatin-1 neurons co-localized with TRH and GnRH neurons in the hypothalamus, it could play a role in centrally hypothyroidism induced testicular dysfunction.

Biochemical, histological, and genetic analyses were performed to determine the link between cultivars that were either sensitive or resistant to the disease. Misr-2 and Giza-171 cultivars had the highest levels of resistance to leaf rust races in 2021 (LTCGT, STSJT, and TTTST) and 2022 (MBGJT, TTTKS, and TTTTT) at the seedling stage.

Background: Diabetic Nephropathy (DN) is serious diabetic complication affecting the structure and function of the kidney. This study assessed the stimulator of interferon genes/ Interferon regulatory factor 3 (STING/IRF3) signaling pathway roles and inflammasome-activation mediated pyroptosis, being imperative pathways of inordinate importance in disease progression, in DN throughout its different stages.
Methods: 45 Diabetic cases were categorized into three groups based on their albuminuric status as follow: Normoalbuminuric, Microalbuminuric and Macroalbuminuric diabetic groups and 15 healthy subjects as controls were included.
Our earlier research showed that an interspecific tobacco hybrid ( 'Columbia' [NEC]) displays elevated levels of salicylic acid (SA) and enhanced resistance to localized necrotic symptoms (hypersensitive response [HR]) caused by tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and tobacco necrosis virus (TNV), as compared with another interspecific hybrid ( [NE]) derived from the same parents. In the present study, we investigated whether symptomatic resistance in NEC is indeed associated with the inhibition of TMV and TNV and whether SA plays a role in this process. We demonstrated that enhanced viral resistance in NEC is manifested as both milder local necrotic (HR) symptoms and reduced levels of TMV and TNV.

Accumulating data suggest the vital role of some microRNAs on vascular calcification as an epigenetic regulator. Thus, we assessed herein, the role of serum miR-433-3p in vascular calcification in type-2 diabetic patients.

Ulinastatin (UTI) has a potent anti-inflammatory effect, protecting the kidney and the gut barrier in sepsis, but its effect on DN has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to assess the potential mitigating effect of UTI on DN and investigate the possible involvement of gut-kidney axis and mitochondrial homeostasis in this effect.
